EYE OPENER!
Ellen Posted May 27, 2008
Hi Terri, you'll be proud of me, I've been very artistic lately! I've been painting and painting. Working on one very large abstract, and one very small still life. They are going well.

for JEllen....good to see at least one of "us lot" is doing something useful & creative with their life!
I "suppose" maybe i have been somewhat creative wise in recent months, but done very little wise...bleagh. The Muse takes me in different ways. It doesn't seem to include household chores though.
I have been told tonight "It's raining, i am Wet!" to which i replied
"This is Not My fault"
The pigeons (of which we have several million) are no longer rats with wings, but rats with flippers.
Meanwhile, in typical French style, a guy wished to make the highest freefall jump, but the balloon left without him....

JEllen...I've been reading about Rennaisance Italy(particularly da Vinci's paintings). Does that get points on even the semi-ic scale? I didn't think so. Good going with the two paintings though!

Ooh, Jazz sighting!*waves*....what is that thing like an Indian Swiss Roll called, with cabbage leaves & tamarind paste??? I used to get it in cans back in Birmingham, will have to make my own here though. PC, bless her, sent me some tamarind paste from Chicago...
Hey, i have a New Fiend online, not from hootoo, but he did end his last email with this:
<<>>
Yo!....if you are lurking

Not lurking...& I have a bit of(actually fairly old)Tamarind paste in the refridgerator. Hmm, cabbage leaves and tamarind paste... no, I'm puzzled-in other words nothing I'm familiar with.

Be warned my fiends; i think this old Beast has finally reached the end of the line; i have been de-fragmenting all day (!!!); removed just about everything possible, including music & photo files & it still says the memory is used up.
I have to reboot pretty much every time i post a message.
PC: saw the report on Herman, give the little fella a big from me & Yoda, thank goodness you got him to the vet in time....looking at the bills, maybe you should send K to the vet & Herman to the Doc?
I reckon a certain amount of wet food seems to work, Yoda is now on a small carton of terrine a day, plus El Cheapo bikkies, occasional eggy, occasional cheesy triangle, occasional yogurt, supplemented by drinking the water when she sits & watches her little pets.....despite the dire predictions, i think she is actually quite maternal towards them. She seems plump but happy!

Yep, Herman always gets at least 1/2 can of wet food every day, with dry kibble available all the time for free nibbling. The vet approves. It's just a fluke that this has happened- it may be because he has such a hard time drinking water, since he has to peck at it like a chicken as he tried not to topple over.
Terri, the memory thing is ridiculous. The only thing I can think of is there is some program on there tapping resources.
Would you be willing to register at a tech support web site I use when I have troubles? If so I can leave you a link. They used to fix my old Beast all the time.

Hey everybody! I've also been artistic lately. I've three paintings accepted for an exhibition of the South African Watercolours association! I'm doing a lot of watercolours lately.

I am back...sort of.... I have had a series of free geeky students in, all scratching their heads & trying different things, disk cleaning stuff mainly. Something somewhere seems to have worked, Ye Olde Beast continues to plod on for le moment; but obviously i still can't deal with photo files, music etc.
Ah well; nobody ever died from lack of video things!
The upside of less Internet Obsession is, i suppose that it makes you find other ways of spending the time, such as, in my case:
*Improving my bass playing. I seem to be in Music Phase rather than visual right now
*Going out into the lovely French countryside & having BBQ & playing bizarre Finnish games involving bits of wood & numbers!
*Lots of Talking with RL people
*Reading Lots of s
*Planting lots of seeds, on the rare days when it isn't actually raining
*Going to local bars & having fun at RL gigs
*Rescuing Very Large, Very Lost...Yoda Not Impressed; now handed over to friendly local cops, who are On The case, since doggy has a tattoo, hopefully can be re-united with owner; Yoda meanwhile maybe needs psychotherapy....
*Hosting various folk from various places
*Making new fiends & baffling the Local Community even more
*Getting myself a free solicitor to deal with the idiocy which characterises my latest Electric bill....how could i possibly use 6 times the wattage between March & May as between November & January?
*Tomorrows Joyous Domestic Plot involves visiting the Lavomatique (Launderette/Laundromat)with a co-conspirator; we are splitting costs & sharing the newspaper in the bar next door while it whizzes around. (The washing, not the bar, though it may come to that)
Good to see You Lot are still being creative!!!

Hi Terri and everyone
I have recently joined a music choir called MOSAIC and I go to practise sessions every Monday night. I forgot last week due to the previous week being a bank holiday and a week later the school children where sill off and worrying about the leak in my bathroom which has now being fixed. I have not yet got enough confidence to sing at the concerts yet.

Ooo, joining a choir is Definitely a Good Thing to do!!!! You get to meet loads of new folks, have fun, it's been proved that singing in a choir type situation is very very good for anyone...it's not like the spotlight is directly on You as a soloist, it's all about co-operation & harmony.

Thanks Terri, I am going to put with two other singers to help me guide through the pratise sessions. I have learned that I am a contalto, I used to be a mezzo soprano when I was a teenager.
