One of the strange things about living in the armpit of Texas is that some styles never go away.
You are liable to see anything around here.
Especially in church.
Looks like a hooker's ball some days.
The fashion of wearing backless shoes of any height has involved a lot of women in the criminal conspiracy of flip-flop-flip-cloping along while looking like they know what they are doing.
It extends to the wearing of shower sandals or flip-flops out of the house, out of the yard and into the schools, malls and churchs.
The teetering on heels in a kind of latter day lotus foot crippling has never ceased to amaze me. It looks funny when a four year old clops around in grandma's old satin pumps, but it looks downright perverse when an otherwise healthy and intelligent person giraffes around in five inch heels that make her lean forward and try to avoid falling in the next step.
The closest things to heels that my daughter chooses to wear is cowboy boots...
and my objections to those will fill another chapter some day.
On the other hand, watching Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn prance around in heels and pearls is a personal perversion of mine... but they're dead...
and then there is Margeret Dumont, the ultimate sex symbol and purveyor of fashionable heft, heels and pearls... if only because Rufus T. Firefly thinks so... I mean, she was a widow, wasn't she?

Not a prude! It's just that there are plenty of sites for that! I like h2g2 being different.
Occaissionally I check out other weblogs. Most have very disturbing angry people!
More often than not, the people here are civil. The other extreme here are threads! A huge variety of topics in one place.
My husband refers to me as both whimsical and terribly serious.
Of course we both think we are realists
It is sort of like that here on a good day too!

Personally, I like high heels... the set of my legs quite nicely and give me a sexier gait. I'll wear trainers during the day, but for going out there is nothing like 4-inch stilettos. Mark my words!

What's wrong with cowboy boots tonsil?
No. Oh no abbi. If you met a sex kiten on here it wasn't me.
Mine was actually an experiment, years ago, to find out whether Yahoo would allow names like that (since Excite won't and Hotmail don't even allow a name with 'money' in it ) and it ended up as an email account I couldn't actually use . Well - except for the sites that want an email addy but you know are going to send you spam
This one had a 'very disturbing angry people' a while back. I ended up leaving for a while and was even suspicious that you might be another incarnation of them when you first came to my space.
So glad you're not.
It's mostly a nice friendly safe site.
I don't understand how you can walk in high heels Greta. I even fall off trainers.

Oh sorry I misunderstood Tefkat! OK then
I did not meet sex kitten,I just saw that name on threads here one night.
A lot of people left a couple times I guess, due to unpleasantries.
Womens legs look great in heels no doubt! That IS what they are for.
It took me years to learn to walk in them, it is an art!
They are gone from my personal shoe wardrobe

The boots laced up the front, with the laces going around little hooks on either side. I put them on in the dream. I really wish I had gotten them in real life. I woke up, and it was like, "Hey! Where are my boots!?" That seems to happen to me a lot, I'll get something nice in my dream, and then I'll wake up. Darn.

Morning jaZZ! Ooops afternoon now.
Sorry I missed U , How are you these days?
I had to get off right away. My Auntie died this morning. I wrote about it just now in my journal.
Saw U on the meet thread. Are U heading to Nevada this summer?

I found the southern researchers' page, but there were only 3 people from TN, and none from Memphis. I don't think I'm up to driving to a midwest meet - I'm a little phobic about driving.

Sorry for your loss.
The number of people losing relatives is kinda high around H2 at the moment.
I lost my cousin last week.
Another researcher just lost her cousin.
My great-grandmother ended up taking care of one of her daughters.
The woman came down with MD at the age of 35, after having been married and raising two sons.
When my Great-gran was in her eighties, she had to go to a home and her daughter was placed, too.
Great-gran has been dead for over a decade. She lived to be 113 and outlived seven of her children that survived childhood.
The daughter settled in rather well, particularly after someone showed some interest in giving her speech and physical therapy for the first time in twenty odd years.
Cowboy boots have their place, I guess, at least according to the evidence on Page Three. I don't mind the daughter wearing them occasionally, but I do object to the large numbers of tottering old men I see around wearing them.
One of the gentlemen at our church, in his eighties, an ex-POW and a Marine, insists upon stepping up on a little wooden step in his teetery high heeled Tom Mix boots when he puts his wheelchair-bound wife in his pickup truck.
Fashion is one thing.
Pain is another.

That is encouraging! I was hoping there would be some pluses. I have heard in this last arrangement she had learned to swim She was thrilled. Thanks for that positive note, I will keep thinking positively on K and keep checking too
Seem to be a lot of people passing 100 these days. One branch of my family (not genetic) lived to be 100. The other side are outta here by 56. Uncanny how many on their birthday.
I had not thought of men having that problem! Thanks for erasing the sexist thought of heels being a female problem! Slaves to fashions come in all manner
In fact, even the dogs are slaves to fashion in some homes
