Master staring at the stairmaster ,
Rather than mastering the stairs.
There by becoming a Stare Master of the stairmaster.
Dont stare at the stairs,
Master the stairs
*stares*
Master the stare stairmaster.

There is a fare to being fair.
Being fair, is no trip to the fair.

There is a fare to the fair,
A fair fare is fair.

Life is fairly unfair,
It is fair to care.

Fighting with the exercise equipment?

I haven't been to a gym since High School.

I've used bicycles for weight reduction and transport and I've worked at jobs that melted the ounces off and developed the muscles, but I've never actively sought physical health.

Perhaps I should start.
I just turned 41. Maybe things are going to start falling off.
Most of the teeth are already gone.

I contemplate my navel
with a fervor
less than grand.
I bend to put on my shoes
with a grunt
and then slowly unbend.
I lift with a thought
for my back
or perhaps not.
I wiggle into my pants
with a twist
that turns into a knot.
Maybe I should give a thought
to pounding this pudding
back into ham.
Or, maybe,
I should learn to be happy
as I am.

Yep smiley - zen I can go with your line!smiley - biggrin

I am definitely NOT fighting with or using exercise equipment. I have no intention to smiley - smiley
Actually, I am unable to.

Exercise is beyond me. I was a rare person who enjoyed it too. Mostly in the form of backpacking, hiking-camping. I never could get into the equipment forms, other than weights. Weights actually give you fast results, little time investment, convienence is a plus. Not talking body builder just a nice firmness.smiley - biggrin

The hubby has a spiffy new, smiley - laugh2 yr old treadmill that is gathering dust. smiley - sadface I am afraid when I slowed down, hubby did too. That is something I take some responsibility for, unecessarily. I do encourage him to go camping and fishing, and he does. It is hard to find and change outdoor buddies. It is frustrating to him after a decade of just us smiley - hug doing it our ways. smiley - cupid He is having fun with his sisters and their sons camping fortunately.smiley - biggrin He loves teaching about the outdoors.

I was watching Dana Carvey do a bit where he mentioned a stairmaster. It inspired me in a smiley - silly way for a second!smiley - magic

Oo, you poor, bored thing,

'inspired by Dana Carvey'? smiley - weird

I have a folding chair that I sit on at the computer.
Under it is a medicine ball, a nine pounder. I roll it around under my feet and toss it around sometimes.
I like it better than regular weights and it can be used as an armrest on a couch, which it did for a while, or a foot rest...

I go to the gym twice a week and clubbing every Saturday. It's very good for my abs, fantastic for my soul smiley - smiley

I used to love hiking. I always wanted to walk the Pennine Way. One of my sons did part of it with one of his friends and the friend's father and subsequently informed me that the only way I could possibly do the high bits would be blindfolded and roped to him - which he was game for if I was. smiley - laugh

I was a long-distance runner too. Only reason I didn't enter the first London Marathon was that I was having a smiley - monster at the time. Watched it from my hospital window.

Good hockey player and enthusiastically mediocre volleyball player too.

Oh, I love volleyball. A bunch of us old farts in my church class spent a couple of hours pounding balls at each other recently at a fish fry.

The ball could help your abs!
I did exercise with one of those giant balls.
That was an entertaining exercise.
It was great for strengthing the trunk/back.
The olympic athletes started using them, it is a deceivingly tough workout. You can even do cardio stuff. It's great for balance also.

Me's fine thanks abbi. Not sure I can make it back to the vehicle though. It's about half a mile and I've only got one crutch because I wanted to carry a book. smiley - erm

Went to the sporting goods store this morning and the almost 13 yr old daughter bought herself a 12lb shot putt.
She calls it "Sharon".

She runs cross country during the warmer months.

Had wet snow for the first time in a couple of years this morning.

I always wanted to do track, but my mother and stepfather put me to work.

Just as much of a workout, but no off-season.

I had a couple of friends used to ride a tandem. One was visually impaired to the point of being blind; the other had no use of her body below the pelvis.
When they rode the bike one pedalled and the other steered. They never did tell me which way round they did it.
On their pub crawls they upset all able bodied people except thick-skinned ones like me coz they called themselves 'wide-eyed and legless'.smiley - laugh

I am also intrigued by the thought of someone with more than one crutch. How many legs do they need in their pants?
