Imbolc!!
Matholwch - Brythonic Tribal Polytheist Started conversation Feb 2, 2005
Today is Imbolc, the feast of brigidh, my patroness. Thus I devote the folowing to her who inspired it:
Brigidh.
In the wind I hear her, her voice in the crows,
Her movement in the susurration of grasses in the breeze.
She comes to me on night borne wings of dark silk,
Her love spreading across the sky and parting the clouds.
In fire I see her, dancing in the candle’s flame,
Her hot breath down my spine,
The coals of her desire ignite my spirit,
Her fiery stare searing my pride.
The waterfall of her mind looses my thoughts,
And carries me through dreams of ancient bards,
Scattering the reeds of her azure intent,
And dashing after the dancing salmon of her laughter.
I return to the embrace of the earth,
The comfort of her cool touch calms me,
And I lie back beneath her trees,
Knowing that, like her, I am the stuff of stars.
Blessings,

Patroness? I read the poem, a well-crafted work of passion, BTW, and I think "mistress". Can you be too personally involved with your deity? Probably not.

The subject sounds like a digestive eruption, but your poetry is always sublime. Again, thank you for sharing it with us.

There isn't a choice.
When a Being takes your 'being' and gives you so much in exchange/fulfillment, there is no compromise, no holding back.
And it is addictive. You want it to happen again, so much, and long for it.

That is a beautiful poem!
This Imbolc has left me blessed by Brigidh with new beginnings! May everyone share in Her powers of creation.

Jordan!!!!!!
Where in Hel have you been? Some of us were getting worried....
Thanks for the unnecessary compliments. As you know druidic bards give much of the credit for our work to the inspiration of our gods and the Awen /|\. This was a devotional poem I wrote a couple of years back at a previous Imbolc.
Many blessings,

Hi Jez
You are mostly right. There have been incidences I wouldn't really yearn for, though I knew it was necessary at the time. The rather challenging appearance of Loki once had me in quite a tizzy .
With Bridey though I can agree with you. Her presence has always lifted me.

Do tell...
Off-list if necessary, on here if possible...
The first time he spoke to me came as a shock as well.
I went off and did the research and wasn't encouraged, Then I got to know him better...
I'm still 'ware' of him, though :D

Hi Jez
OK, but you realise that 'they' are watching and I can't go back into a straitjacket again?
I was giving counsel to a dear friend and leader of a group who are betwixt and between brythonic and norse in their practice. I am an associated druid to them.
To cut a long story short it was new moon, one minute I was talking to him in the garden by candlelight, the next it is twenty minutes later. He is frozen in shock and I am lying on the grass like a discarded puppet. According to him I either had an LSD flashback (a substance I can assure you I have NO experience of) or a being identifying itself as 'Loki' was speaking through me.
It took me a good week to fully recover from this 'experience'. I still haven't fully justified the thing to myself, especially as I have had no prior relationship with Loki, or any of the norse pantheon. An asartruar I correspond with in Rekjavik is pretty blase about it so I suppose I'll live .
OK doctor I'll come quietly.
Blessings,
