Hey the cartoon with the tongue has a great quote for Random quotes.

And though I'm very fond of my Leonardo Wallpaper at home, I was drawn to some of those funky screen images.

Hey, for once I'm the first to reply.

That is weird. But, if everyone liked the same things it would be a boring old world and we'd need 2000 copies of the same book.

But working in public libraries would be much simplier if everyone like the same things...though it would be deathly dull (and for those outside the Library world, you don't know what rushhour is until you see a public library at 3.30pm on a weekday).

I would normally gratefully acknowlege your comment on me being first on this thread, if I haven't recently showed how slow I am at getting things mailed.

For those of you with windows machines, some of those icons are now available for windows! Yay, now I can use them at work. Of course I think the wallpaper can be used by anyone. There's some great "bcards" there now too. I especially like the one that says "I know you're watching me".

Glad you both like the site.

If everyone can't at least all like the same things, can we at least make all the books the same size? Makes packing them for branch run much easiersmiley - winkeye

I think oversized books should all be gathered up and burned. How's that? And all children's picture books should be a standard size. I hate shelving and packing them. Makes me want to burn all of them too. Two sizes are plenty for books. One for picture/gardening/cook books and one for everything else.

When I started work here the picture books were shelved according to size smiley - yikes rather than author. It made finding anything nearly impossible, but the shelves were neater. The librarian who came up with that jewell of an idea is the same one who threw away all of the subject cards out of the card catalog (because they took up too much room)and ordered the cataloger not to make any new ones.
