Oh my PC! (Soon)
ARGHHHHH!
My PC recently gave me the most uninformative warning I've ever seen.
The dialogue box had a red circle with a white cross in it (X-shaped) and an okay button.
ARGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

How much more unhelpful could that possibly be?
The worst part about it was that it meant that there was something terribly wrong because nothing would work!

I figured out it must be something to do with dial-up networking, so we uninstalled all the modem drivers, etc. Once we did that the thing worked! Yay? No.

I reinstalled my drivers and the whole problem came back again.
Well, a week, lots of very helpful conversations and consulting, and a lot of money later I have my PC working again. It's almost a completely different PC, as it has a new motherboard, new modem, new RAM, and a new case! It is working, that's the main thing.

I don't want to start a debate here, but I think the next time I purchase a new computer, it'll be a Mac.

Hope everyone else's week has been fine.

No, I wasn't on the net at the time. It happened out of the blue one day when my sister turned my computer on. (She assures me she had nothing to do with it- I believe her.)
I thought it was a virus at first too. My virus software didn't pick up anything wrong though. Yes, I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything, but it's pretty up to date.

I just can't get over the error message, or lack of one!

It was probably about time you got a new machine (it almost is). Isn't this the machine you got off your uncle second hand?

I'm personally considering rebooting my machine again...it's been giving very weird messages of late.

Yes it is the very same machine. Well, not exactly the same. The only original bits left in it are the a:\ and c:\!

I am considering buying a new machine. If I do it will be a Mac. Either an iMac or a G4.

I have people encouraging me to do so, and who are willing to tutor me. Not that I'll need much, apparently they're very easy to use. I haven't used one since 1993!
