All I can say is you have to make this decision for yourself.
You need to consider what this will achieve for you. No danger money. Being more tired. You have to consider whether you would be able to act on your instincts whilst being a special whilst being tired because of the extra hours work you're doing.
Personally, I'd give it a go. If it's something you enjoy doing, then it's a backdoor into the police.
One thing I would say though is this....speak to your partner/wife first. When I first met "G", he had an office job. After we got engaged, he applied to become a fireman. He got an interview, but I nagged and nagged and nagged for him not to do it because I would be frightened of anything happening to him. Hence he didn't go for it.
What is her thoughts on this? Remember, although it's your decision, something like this must be agreed upon my the spouse too
