Everyone's head should have a house band
Andrew Wyld [kt:'Burning Pestle', kp:'Mutamems, Ideodiversity', Zaph.] Started conversation Aug 8, 2002
The house band in my head mostly play cover versions of Who songs, these days. They used to play a lot of Jethro Tull, which was fun. They play Bjork, particularly on trains, and The Divine Comedy. But for some reason these days they're playing lots of Who. Not that I mind. I love The Who.
Occasionally they play a song I don't like, or more probably, its most odious eight bars. It's not always true that he who pays the piper calls the tune.
They've even started playing their own songs. While I was asleep once they even played me what they thought the new Radiohead album would sound like, and they weren't all that far off once it was released. But it came out first and was original.
I think I'm going to plagiarise the band in my head.

This is a good enough place to commandeer some space. You certainly are an interesting brand of quirk (I say that in the most ingenuously complimentary way possible).
Fu** the oddest thing just happened - I was listening to Life in Mono and looking in the dictionary to confirm that 'ingenuous' is in fact the exact reverse of disingenuous. My eyes fell on the word 'ingenue' just as girlie sang the word....Tell me andrew, is it a sign *prepares her wide-eyed cult-follower expression should she need it*.
ah...and as though I had any deep thoughts in my head - Teenage Dirtbag comes on to vanquish them.
"she rolls and she rocks...in Keds and gym socks" *purrr*

You seem quite ingenuous. Yuo've got the same innocent child-like dot-product sexually adventurous quality all the goths I seem to know have (and my goodness, there is a lot of them.)

*blinkblinkblink*
Now why is it that everyone resorts to coddling little nyssa to shut her up? Er wait, it's effective, that's why *thinks she should practice quieting self-kissing*

It wasn't so much to shut you up as that I wanted an excuse to use the phrase "quite-unique-thank-me-very-much", and to kiss you on the nose.
[pretends to be the World War One Flying Ace]
I think this innocent French lass has fallen for me.

I'm falling am I? I wonder then what my point of origin was..
cute nonetheless though (one of my favorite and most soothing books as a child was this terribly old copy I had of the Peanuts "Happiness is.." Still think of it on occasion..)

Happiness is two kinds of ice cream,
Finding your skate key,
Telling the time ....

Ever see Love is walking hand in hand? There were some really, really lvoely ones with Snoopy and Woodstock.
Favourite Peanuts character?
My one's Marcie, because she's both the most switched on and (I think) brightest of the characters, but also because she is the only one who follows Snoopy all the way into his interior universe, where even Linus stops ... and because she loves Charlie Brown, even though she knows he will never love a girl with glasses. One day she will get contact lenses, though. One day.

My sister had a share bear ...
... she also had a Barbie doll which we tortured unmercifully (actually, mostly it was Barbie's own stupidity which led her to walk off high tables ... happy days ...).

Ha ha, we used to have earthquakes hit barbie town. Oddly enough, by some trick of nature, these earthquakes always involved heavy loss of limbs.
I just remembered the time I was in a hurricane in Florida. Natural disasters are really sort of cool *waits to be socked by somebody experienced a true loss as the result of one*. But really..the whole boarding sh** up, huddling around the news channel, nervously listening to the winds..exciting stuff.
But back to the topic of this thread...I find myself reverse soundtracking quite often, as lame as that may sound. When songs I love come on, I formulate perfect life experiences in my head to go along with them. Feh, maybe I should have been a director of some sort. But I think I'd have too much trouble sharing my vision, as it were, and would get into fistfights with the budget people (though..that would be cool to see; my little self pummeling Hollywood a**es).

You should go into animation. That costs the same no matter how many special effects you put in (i.e., a lot).
I don't so much think up life experiences as scenes from films ... perhaps this is an example of my tendency to depersonalize ....

Maybe it's because I'm a chick or something, but I think I'm a closet self-worshipper or something *scratches cheek thoughtfully* (I do that so much I should just type *SCT*). Hmm..'won't get fooled again' came on..now how to relate that to this thread..ah...my head..it's always trying to tell me i'm more fantastical than I end up being in real life. It's sad, really.

Well, Won't Get Fooled Again is the best song in the entire world and it's also what's on in my CD player.
How about that?
