I'm hanging up my proverbial coat, and not pretending that I'm active here any more.
Don't get me wrong, I love you guys. The stuff you got me through was crazy. But I blinked, and the hootooniverse expanded exponentially around me; and somewhere between life, love, and death we forgot who we all were once.
Tried other forums: couldn't do it. It was like cheating on my first love.
Perhaps if I broke up with you properly, it would be easier to get over you? That's always the theory, but I don't know if it's true. So, I'm sorry h2g2, I love you, I always loved you, I'll never forget you.. but maybe it's time we saw other people?
The Existential Elevator will live on, with Douglas Adams at its heart. But for now, Tanya says goodbye, and thankyou for all the time you kept me holding on, and the inexplicably strange and terrible gifts you gave me.

Feel free to mail me if you ever want a chat, Opti [and anyone who read this far, really]. I do hope things are going well for you
It's funny how much I think of you guys. But 'g2 is sort of like a strange land. It's like coming home after you've been away for a long time, and realizing you don't really belong there anymore.

I never know quite what to say when someone's left, I feel a bit like I do when shopping, when I think I'm talking to someone only to find out they'd wandered off. I know what you mean though EE, I've tried all sorts of other forums but I just can't get into it, they're just not h2g2, or at least not h2g2 five years ago (eep, was going to say four but there's another year gone since I joined here ). I spend most my web time now on a book website, and just give the forums a miss. I hardly use h2 at all now, but I can't just leave completely, I wouldn't have got my family and some good friends without it.
You will be missed, you were one of the first people I talked to here. I wish you all the best for the future
