...I fell down the stairs.
I've never been so scared in my life - I was carrying Myá at the time. I don't know what happened, I just slipped off the second step from the top and rolled down. Quite how I did it I don't know, but thank god I left Myá at the top of the stairs and I ended up in a crumpled heap at the bottom.
Myá is fine, very, very shaken and a bruised foot (while I was putting her shoes on her this morning she was going "ooh, ooh" but it was funny to her - kid). I'm fine, having lost the skin off: the top of two toes, one of my knees and one of my elbows and having a shooting pain in my knee if I walk on my right leg too hard.
I'd rather not go through that again.
Liam.

My sister once fell down the stairs at our house. She'd got up to go to the toilet at about 7 in the morning, walked to the top of the stairs, and fainted. We've still got no idea why. The rest of the us weren't asleep for much longer. No serious injury though.
It was the day of Charles and Diana's wedding, incidentally.
Probably best to get checked out at a hospital if you haven't already. There could be unseen damage.

Yep: good advice. A&E ought to check you over just for peace of mind.

My knee seems fine at the moment. A little stiff after sitting on the train this morning but I have almost free range of movement now, I'm sitting with my ankles crossed.
The most painful bit is my toes - which I am now constantly aware of.
The other fantastic[?!] medical news is that due to my failing hearing I'm off to the ENT specialist soon to find out if I'm having a hearing aid. Lovely.
Liam.

I've just noticed your tagline. Been on the http://www.despair.com site a bit too much, methinks.

Best thing is that little 'un i sok and was left at top of stairs.. I know it doesnt help your hurty toes but you know what I mean ???
Seriously though, the advice about getting yourself checked out medically is sound, you never know what you have done to your insides.
Take care of yourself...

Hope you went for a x-ray just to be on the safe side... Suz fell down some stairs just the other week and chipped the bone in her ankle...
