There are several things I no longer bother to do
I never bother to pull posts anymore no matter how offensive I find them, I have completely lost faith in the moderation system. This is because there are certain researchers who run around flaming willy nilly and quite blanetly getting away with it.
I don't normally get into conversations except with my friends, if I am talking to friends then nothing I say can be Taken the wrong way or conected, however loosely, to anyone else.
Sad fact that a site that was such a happy place for me has become somewhere I feel I can't breathe, and that I have no space. And a place were certain fractions of all are allowed a free run no matter how much they upset others.
I am highly disappointed by the whole thing

You and I both, friend. I know of the "preferred" people, and find it rather irksome.
But then, I consider that they really are such a worthless and tiny portion of the whole place, barely worthy of my disdain. And I quite like the folks that I do talk with, share life and experiences with, and am just generally pleased to know.

Same here, I rarely venture out of my tried and trusted areas.
Take heart when I say 'They' are riding for a dirty great fall, they high and mighty always do

I don't know reef
I've been holding on to the 'give them enough rope and they'll hang themselves' hope for a long time, but it doesn't matter what they do, they don't even get put on premod!

Yeah, it is tragic when that happens but take comfort in all the people laughing behind their backs

And the ones who occassionally do take them to task.
Sooner or later, in bits and pieces, true colours are seen though. And presumed 'credibility' isn't something that is easily won back.

This site has changed a lot since I first found it six years ago. Not all of those changes have been good.
I'm kind of hoping that eventually the universe will shift one way or the other to maintain a balance.

Honestly, between livejournal and the writing sites, I don't invest that much time or effort here beyond logging in and opening the conversation gadget and submitting a few things to the Post.

Somewhat related to the first post ...
On Saturday, I was foolish and tried to express some concern about a "Researcher". The ensuing flak flying about (here and by mails) resulted in a couple of my posts being d. Now over 48 hours later, and a full BBC work day gone, I have as yet to here anything from the Mod folks. Perhaps the 'r is considered of a high enough status that their word is final? If that IS the case, it is getting far worse than I'd felt.
Key: Complain about this post
