Really? Sounds like fun. I'm acting Brown Owl at the mo as ours is off to have a baby. Scary...

My mum really enjoyed it, I loved the Guides I used to do all the outdoor badges

Some of the badges are great., Though there were a few that were kinda random. Wonder how many people did the fireman badge. Though they changed the badge programme so they now do a "Go For It" in Guides instead of the badges. And you can get one in , or several if you like. Really random.

That's a shame, I used to love working for the badges

It is. It's just changed so much. It's too easy from what I've heard.

Maybe it's a good thing she chose something else, it's not a challenge if it's too easy

Yeah. Though there still *have* to bre ones that require a bit of effort. Just can't get my head round doing a badge.

I'd have thought they'd be pushing St Jamie's advice on healthy eating

If they're pushing healthy eating, why are they giving out chocolate badges

Who knows. Have yet to hear the specifics on how to earn such a badge though. But still, if they do a badge, they should at least compensate with a fruit badge or something.

Was just at our localo Thinking Day thing and they mentionned the badge, along with a "party planner" badge! It gets worse!!!

Does a bit. Found the criteria for the chocolate badge: http://www.girlguiding.org.uk/guides/programme/badge_chocolate.asp#top

At least it's not all eating the stuff.
Just checked the list of other badges and there still seem to be a few useful/sensible ones, like Camper, First Aid and the Camp Permit. There also seem to be "Healthy Lifestyles" and "Independent Living" which should be useful.
