Did Anyone Hear............

........Richard Allinson this morning on Radio 2 (he's sitting in for Terry Wogan), he played the Album version of The Eve of The War from War of the Worlds all 10 minutes of it, wow I'd forgotten how good this album was, after hearing it this morning I went straight to my CD collection and dug it out and listened to it.
Has anyone else got this in their collection, it's not just Jeff Wayne's fab score that makes this a classic album it's also Richard Burton's fantastic portrayal of The Jounalist.

I used to hate that about Capital FM when I lived in London, you could almose set your watch by the records played, if I remember rightly they used to play Cecilia by Suggs at 3.45 every day

Some of the comedy stuff on Radio's 2 and 4 is pretty good but there's no one that makes me laugh any more, Kenny Everett was one, DLT and Adrian Juste from Radio 1 many years ago. Steve Wright is pretty good tho. there's a guy on Radio Solent that is just so pathetic, he tries to be trendy and serious at the same time, it's soooooooooo sad

One of my favourites, the Martians, the heat ray, the journalist, the whole of "Brave New World," fantastic. Just fantastic.

I don't think it would have been such a hit if it hadn't been for Richard Burton playing the Journalist, he's made the part, I don't think anyone else could have played it
