I'm happy to report that elderly relative is going into the Hospice tomorrow morning and that I talked (bullied) her son into staying with her overnight tonight.
More rain today only this time it bucketed! Just as I was leaving work the heavens opened and I got soaked walking between work and the car and 3 mins later between the car and the GP surgery. There was also a massive flood on the road home. Too much rain too quickly - again.
Oh, there's nothing wrong with me, honestly. I was on the way to the GP surgery for my flu vaccine so if I die of anything this winter it won't be influenza.
This evening took daughter shopping for an outfit for her video shoot. In case you missed it and I can't see how you missed it she recorded a couple of songs she'd written over the summer. If you're interested you can read about them and hear them here: http://www.reverbnation.com/sarahp if you're not interested - don't worry.
All she managed to buy was a coat, a scarf and a blouse. She will be wearing more than that in the video but we just don't know what that'll be yet.
Anyway, it's been another tiring day so I think I'll have an early night.

Video shoot? Gosh. They grow up so fast...
I'm glad that elderly relative is going into the hospice - which sounds callous, seeing I've never met her, but you know what I mean. She'll get the care she needs there. Even if staying at home would have bene her choice, she's held out long enough to know that she's facing things on her own terms.

I second Ivan's thought about the elderly relative. You'll hopefully be able to worry a bit less, and she'll have an atmosphere improved by the consistent atmosphere of professional staff.
for the talented daughter...I wish her all the best.

Ah the flu jab. Nice. err, not. I had flu jab in one arm, B12 in the other. I reckon the is practicing for her local darts team.

Yes Ivan, she's 15 now and took delivery of her National Insurance Number last week. Technically I could now send her out to work in the factory .... if there was a factory taking on at the moment.
I'm happy to report elderly relative made it safely to the hospice. I'll be going to sit with her tomorrow evening and again on Sunday afternoon. We're trying to work out a bit of a rota so that she doesn't spend too much time alone.

Yes - I also benefit from the free flu-jab, but last year I didn't bother, not made my mind up about this year yet.

Go for it McKay.
I have COPD and a dose of the flu would probably finish me off so I'm not taking any chances.

Ditto, I contracted the Hong Kong flu Xmas of 1971 was unconscious 3 days, nearly died and was years recovering. (The epidemic that nearly wiped out the Rock and Roll industry.)
I've missed my flu shot only one occasion since, when I delayed waiting for a free shot that was supposed be provided in the workplace and never arrived. There were shortages of the vaccine that year. I was working in a situation where I was face to face with around a hundred people per working day, contracted the flu, and though it wasn't so bad as the Xmas 1971 strain, it was terrible.
These days I'm eligible to get the shot free at the VA, but it costs more than the price of the shot to drive in and its typically not available till about 2 months after the vaccine arrives in the drug stores, so I don't wait.
