I had a lovely day today.
I went to my sister's house and the French connection were there - her son, daughter-in-law and their 6 children (17, 15, 12, 11, 5, 2yo)- the eldest's girlfriend, her other 2 grandchildren (10 and 3 yo) and my Sazzle (14yo). Needless to say it was noisey ... but it was great fun, we hadn't all been together since October.
It was great.

The noise would have been quite startling. Still, if a gathering like this isn't exactly an everyday occurrence, it's worth it.

You know what, it was one of those days - no big meal or anything, just a visit but it was such fun.
The eldest has just been signed for a local football team so may be home a lot more often, second eldest boy has recently confirmed that he's gay (at 15 he's a little insecure about it) but he's planning to move to Australia .... watch out Ivan. It was just so nice to see the difference half a year makes even with the little ones. I love days like that, no rows, no bitchin', just hanging out.

Great to hear you had a good time. Family get togethers can go both ways, so it's good when you come away as happy as that!

Oh Ivan the whole family are going .... except the lad who's going to play football - that would be too long a commute. I'll let you know where they're going and you can make sure you're nowhere near them - they're noisy, boisterous, have dogs and ... well they'd put paid to anyone's quiet weekend.
Hoggy a few hours like that are few and far between in our family so I'll cherish it for a while - next time we get together there'll probably be murder.

Fizzy, there are plenty of places here where a noisy family with dogs wouldn't even be noticed... They'll fit right in.

No *actual* murder has taken place yet .... unless you count Hoggy murdering his hairdo!!
I'm not that worried Ivan (but you should be) they tend to live in rural areas so just beware of the influx of wildlife migrating for a bit of peace and quiet.
