Oh, wait... that's just rain.
See, we've gone so long without much rain that it was a bit of a shock to look out and see all this wet stuff fallling with no warning. They've told us so often that we were going to get rain and we didn't so what are we to think?

We were supposed to get some 2 days ago, but they lied to us. Maybe one day ... ::looks up::

we don't know the meaning of the word "rain" here in PA.
on the other hand, we can identify snow, and it scares the crap out of us. School caniclations for a fine dusting. *tish*
peace.

Except in MT, where they cancel school for the threat of snow, but once if it starts while school is in session, they wait until the roads are extremely dangerous before letting the kids go home.
Idiots.

On toast no less...
*grin* It stopped being torrential with the rain in the Uk, then it got all a bit serious over Eastern Europe. You guys seen the piccies of it all? Scary biscuits if ever there were any. If you haven't seen the stuff going on over there go to the beeb news site http://news.bbc.co.uk and you'll see it all reported. Makes you glad of a more temperate climate

We haven't had a drop of rain since I did the journal entry.... it's ridiculously dry, dangerously dry. We're used to dry summers, but it's been too dry for the last year or two.
I do feel for those who are having far too much rain though - must be horrible!

I know... there were some pictures where you could just see the top of the lamp-posts and stuff like that. Or bridges where you couldn't actually see the arches and stonework any more Apparently 70 have died accross Europe due tot he flooding,a nd about 3 are missing Brings disasters like the ones in asia a wee bit closer to home really when you see it happening so close.

It's very, very scary! And so unbelievable when you think we're in the middle of a drought here, and pray for some rain.

Lancaster is VERY dry right now... it seems that every major storm is etiher too north or too south to hit us... not to mention the fact that this is the hottest year in ages...

It's the warmest here in Hull that I've ever known it be. It's impossible to sleep at night, although we do occasionally have a shower of rain though so at least we have that... I'm just waiting for winter again.
