Nice comments. Make me smiley - drool, smiley - biggrin and

A very nice holiday was had - and a lot of espresso, cheese, espresso, cakes, espresso, mineral water, espresso, singing and nice food all around - and the odd cup of espresso.

We visited Milano, didn't have time to see the Magritte exhibition smiley - sadface, but wandered through a lot of fashion stores, constantly shadowed by sellers or the guys with little earpieces who watch over the clothes.

Some people do buy dresses for 3-5.000 € smiley - yikes. I saw it with my own eyes. smiley - bigeyes

Daughter C. satisfied, we accompanied son M. to find the famous football stadium. Something Sir (smiley - erm) A long, long walk there and back from the metro station it was.

New Year a Piazza San Marco in Venice, crushed by a million people - and powdered by snow.

I'm too old for these kind of crowds and for agitated youngsters screaming at the top of the voices from the stage supposing to entertain the crowd.

We had rented a small flat in a farmhouse and spent time there as well as with the family.

tartaronne, it's a shame you didn't sample the expresso. smiley - silly

It sounds great. Even the huge crowd in Venice. That is one city I really want to visit. With sea levels rising, it looks like I need to do it isntead of talking about it.

Great to have you back! smiley - hug

PS - All true Venetians have waders within reach. Twice, when I've been to Venice, the water covered the piazza's and walks. At Piazza San Marco boards were put up on ? (low chairs without a back) - and everybody crossed the square in two rows walking behind each other - one each way. smiley - laugh

i believe the correct term is (foot)stool smiley - geek

but shambles would be more precise since venices is left in a shambles by the rising water/sinking city
