I think the town I live has 60000 inhabitants, but a lot of the sudents hang out at the same places, so you see them at the uni buildings, student clubs, shops and flats, and on the roads between these locations.

OK......makes my town look tiny. It has bout 25000 people. There are a lot of students too, but it's a big uni and unless you're in halls or clubs or something, it's hard to run into other students when you're out.

Ah, right.

But it's quite a big area. We've several other smaller towns within a few miles with high student populations and tourists and all that. Apparently the population of this area triples over the summer.

I guess we get a lot of tourists, too. Especially in early May, on the aniversity of the German surrender at the end of World War II, which was signed here.

You actually have history. Trying to think what we have.....
Well not far from my house is the site of the oldest habitation in Ireland, and possibly the UK.

We have even more history. The town's name was taken from when there used to be barbarian tribes living here in the Roman days. The Romans never managed to get a foothold this side of the river Rhine, so there was a tribe living here who occasionally assaulted the Romans. They'd chuck a burning cartwheel down the hill before each attack. If it stayed upright all the way to the bottom, the gods would ba on their saide in battle.

Interesting. Must remember to try the burning cartwheel think next time I end up in a fight.

Hmmm, yes. My student club is at the top of a hill. Maybe we should take to chucking burning cartwheels down it.
