I have now been in the Highlands of Scotland since April. I finally get to go home in four weeks!
Since being up her I have learned some new words...
'Dour' and 'Dricht'
Say them with me...
"DouuR"
"DriCHt"
Come on ! louder than that! (nobody can hear you)...
"DOOoooooooUUUUURch"
"DRiiiiCCCCCHHHHt"
You don't have to know what theese words meen for you to understand how life in a small town in the Highlands is affecting me!
If your thinking about visiting Scotland, take my advice and go up the west coast. The coast is magical, the scenery is like none other on the British mainland - and it's got lovely crinkley edges!!!

Ahhh! There you are again!
Being an Art director, my friend, is much like making love to a buetiful woman.
i.e. no one notices unless your doing it wrong! Basicaly I work in the Art department. We are responsible for building the scenery, decorating it a supplying all the action props.
My job usually involves draughting up the scenery designs for the Desiginer and then co-ordinating materials, labour and equipment supplies with the construction department. i also make props and do bits of graphics such as letters, bank statements e.t.c
its kind of like moving house and redecorating every day!
Oh, here's your wagon wheels (sos for the delay!)

Shame... you'll not still be in Scotland for the Xmas meet-up then, on 24th November? Or can you be persuaded to stay on?
The west coast is lovely indeed. Whereabouts have you been, and what brought you to the Highlands in the first place? Oban is quite magnificent, IMHO.

I'm working on a TV program on a highland estate In betwhen Kingussie and Fort william. I lve in Kingussie in a shared house, like most of the crew, but unlike most of the crew I live in London so I can't just pop off down the A9 and be at home at the weekends. It's just seeing the same road and office everyday thats driving me nuts, I don't have the distractions of the big smoke to keep me sane! (Inverness doesn't quite quailify!)
I'm afraid that I will be finishing here on the 2nd Nov and unless the weather is VERY good I will be heading south as fast as my little car can carry me!
How about you? are you from bonny scotland?
