Influence and Intrusion- The pavements of Babylon

Post 1

Jaywalker in Babylon

I'm still here in Babylon and while I'm finally on the pavement rather than in the middle of the road I find that the pavement is still irritating if only questionably dangerous. But more to the point I'm still balancing on the curb whilst those that I love still question why I get angry at those who make me teeter here. And if I stop being angry or rather if I have to become more passive to be a begrudgingly welcome guest of the pavement, is it worth the price myself and other Jaywalkers would have to pay?

I'll continue when I've calmed down a little. One day I'll make more sense.

Sounds like you've had some difficult choices to make in the last few months. But it also sounds like the worst is over - congratulations on your engagement. smiley - biggrin

So, do you have to renounce your original citizenship to become a Japanese citizen? Is Japanese citizenship automatic when you marry a Japanese woman? (I'm assuming you fiancee is Japanese). By the way, what was your original citizenship? I'm sure there are other complications here that I'm unaware of.

Anyway, you've come to the right place. H2g2 is an amazingly friendly place where you're sure to meet up with someone helpful. And the Atelier is just brimming with wonderful people (that's where I saw you). I suspect there will be more salonistas dropping in on your page before long. smiley - biggrin

Jaywalker in Babylon

Hello Garius Lupus. Sorry I've been a little busy for the past few weeks so I only just saw your reply. First thing is to update people on the situation, I'll try to talk in plain English and not just jump straight into the metaphor of Babylon and its bureaucrats.
Basically I'm now a happily married man busily trying to arrange parties in Japan and in England(I'm English by the way whatever that means). As for citizenship Japan doesn't technically recognize my marriage as a marriage so it certainly won't grant citizenship that easily. I love living here I just hate the way that the legal system here and elsewhere views and treats me and my fellow jaywalkers. Jaywalking is difficult without obstructionist bureaucrats and people not looking past their immediate surroundings.
Maybe I should start again later, I'm kind of in a hurry and am probably not making much sense......sorry later.
