What a superb gig that was I had such a great time. Only sitting there listening and watching live have I developed a true appreciation for how ridiculously talented this woman is!
Damn shame my Stereo wont go as loud as the system at the Apollo, won't stop me trying though
Hats of to you T.A!

Hi James You lucky ! I wish I was going again. Never seen her live before, she blew me away You'll have a great time. Is this your 1st of her concerts or are you a seasoned gig goer?
Been listening to Scarlet's Walk a lot at the moment, so through exposure would probably choose Pancake. Really love that
But Cornflake Girl and Precious Things are still way up there on my all time favourite songs list.
What I'd pick will probably swing with my mood and how the song relates to it. It's great to have Tori to offer diversity like that
Who else are you in to musically?
Thanks for popping in

I'm into anything that takes my ear, however Tori Amos has always fascinated me: I've got all the albums and some interviews as well! It will be my first ever concert and I'll be Bliss-ed out.
What are your fave lyrics?
I like "so then love walked up to like and said I know you don't like me much let's go for a ride" in Cooling,
And "I don't believe you're leaving me 'cos me and Charles Manson like the same ice-cream" in Tear in Your Hand.
Nice to meet another fan!

How about;
"She's your cocaine
your exodus laughing
she knows what you are" She's Your Cocaine
&
"So I let crazy take a spin
then I let crazy settle in
kicked off my shoes
shut reason out" From Crazy - how come I go for choruses?
Am now beginning to re-discover some of her stuff, which has been neglected on my shelves for far too long, especially From The Choirgirl Hotel & To Venus and back, which I only had copies of
I got To Venus this week & gonna get the other one as soon as it's back in stock
Everything's playing pretty much non stop now, so will probably add more lyrics later there's just so many!

Astounding! And now I've got this great dreamcatcher medallion with her name on it! . They'd run out of T-shirts .
I got very emotional over her performances of Tear in Your Hand and Playboy Mommy. .
"From here to Birmingham I've got a few friends."
Have you heard the Westwood One Interview?

The guy next to me at Tori, sat there crying his eyes out throughout most of the gig. She is truly astounding though, it's the 3rd time I've seen her and possibly my favourite.
My Fave lyrics are 'she's been everybody else's girl, maybe one day she'll be her own'.

Really? I didn't notice! But then I was mesmerised by her & her fingers on the piano *roots through the CD's again looking for Girl*
Wearing my Scarlet's Stories T-shirt again now all signs of lunch & baby drool has have been removed.

I was going to offer him some loo roll to dry his eyes, but I didn't want to intrude on his emotions. She is truly mesmerising to watch, you can tell that she enjoys playing as much as we enjoy listening.
You can't let the kiddies drool on Tori, although maybe she's used to it with her 2 year old?! LOL!

So that's why you carry your big rubber bag rather than a girly purse! You have to fit a bog roll in there How about a bog brush?
I'm sure she's well used to dribble and snot!
Even seeing her play on live but on the screen of a TV does not do her talent justice. & The way that the floor was shaking when she hit the bass notes on the piano... Just WOW!
Am very much enjoying the live CD on To Venus and Back now In the absence of being back there, it's not bad at all.

3SM go for it, get the Tori on!
Andy, at one point I thought I was going mad, when she was playing the organ I couldn't hear it because I was tuned into the bass, I'm fine with piano because it's a much sharper noise, and I have no problems with drums but that organ, very nice but I don't to get to hear much of it. The bassist was cool though! I don't do girly handbags anyway, far too much crap to carry round with me.

Event Horizon Posted Jan 20, 2003
What do you mean you *thought* you *were* *going* mad?
You clearly are well and truly mad & have been for some time! Uh oh!
I don't think I ever focus in on one aspect of music like that, or if I do I really have to think about it, like trying to figure out the chords to play on guitar - which I can do pretty well now. - But to lose pretty much everything else, like that? Very very odd!
I love the organ! & that's one of my favourite songs on the whole album too
Poor Mel
You enjoying the tunes Lee? What you got on?

threesecondmemory Posted Jan 21, 2003
I can't actually find any. I think the Tori CD's belonged to the ex. Or at least, she decided to keep 'em! I'll have to have a nosey on the old interweb and download a few.
Recommendations for the first tune?

James try www.toriamos.com I think you can post fanmail etc there? The website's pretty good and worth a look anyway.
You know me Andy, I'm not quite mad but I have my moments. I've just spent so many years following the basslines on songs that I struggle to focus on anything around the treble level. I can hear songs as a whole, but I do like to dissect them and hear all the mad little noises individually. I love panning and reverb effects too, but now I'm going off on one!
3SM if you have minidsc I can record you a couple and bring them to the meet. My Favourite albums are Little Earthquakes and From the Choirgirl Hotel, but that's because I like tham as whole albums aside from just a few good singles.

threesecondmemory Posted Jan 21, 2003
Little Earthquakes was the one that belonged to me. I think the ex had most of her other work too. She was a big fan. Our singer trace loves tori too and was also at that concert.
Unfortunately I haven't got a MD player, but thanks anyway. I'll download some from the intertwot.
You a bassist then?
