New ISP - oh, mother!
Zarquon's Singing Fish! Started conversation Jun 7, 2006
I've changed my ISP. I thought nothing would happen until I contacted my old provider, however just after 8oclock, my on-line connection went, and I had to look at my letter from my new provider and entered that, and everything was fine. In theory, it should be 16X faster than my previous one - time will tell.
Oh, there's such a lot to do. I have a lot of subscriptions on my old one, and I don't even know how many there are. I suspect this is an opportunity to unclutter from a lot of automatically generated e-mails. This is a good thing, as at present I'm somewhat overwhelmed by them.
It does feel a bit scary though.

I'm a bit knee deep in subscriptions too. Must cancel some of them as I just don't have time to read tthe emails. Unfortunately my computer wouldn't cope with anything faster. Lucky you. Hope it speeds things up for you.

How absolutely horrifying!
I can't even begin to think about what I would have to change or renew if I changed ISPs!
Believe it or not, I am a bit computer illetterite!

Hi Websailor It seems fine at the moment, although I can'r really say I've noticed it being faster. Perhaps when I do downloads - I have a monthly subscription to an audio book - I'll be able to se the difference. The neat thing is that although it's 16x faster (my current ISP is half a meg and my new one 8 meg, it's a third the cost. Win-win.
Tonsil - I'm sure you're intelligent enough to handle computer stuff as long as you tell yourself you're competent enough. I know from personal experience that when I change my mind about my ability to do things (eg remember number, which I used to think I was dreadful at), I suddenly become much better at it. Spending a bit of time and practising helps too.
Fords - What distance do I get on a litre of petrol? None on the computer - less than I used to in my car! Actually, I've not seen that much evidence that it is much quicker at the moment.
Key: Complain about this post
