Did you know that blasphemy is illegal in the UK? That's because the Queen is the "defender of the faith". (Just the one faith - the attitiude seems to be "the hell with Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, etc.) and that seems to me to be a breach of articles 18 and 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/A224623).

The Monarchy are such a waste of tax money and TV space that its not even funny. I've heard many say that, in my lifetime there will be no monarchy, but whos going to oust them? You think any government is going to be able to kick the Queen off the throne? No, because they can't get into power without supporting the Queen. And no way will the House of rich ancestors object, oh no, they know they'd be next. You think protests will get rid of them? We all know that people in high places ignore protests and don't take them into account, such as the Iraq War protests, HELLO? Wake up and smell the democracy Tony Blair, PEOPLE DON'T WANT WAR. If you think War is so neccessary, CONVINCE people it is neccessary with vital EVIDENCE. Oops, anyway, I forgot what I'm answering...

My Dad heard something the other day:

There's all these weapons, eg something like 10, 00 litres of antrax and loads of missles etc that the inspectors found a few years ago - he's not exactly going to have got rid of them is he?

PS. I like the monarchy, but I do appreciate your point.

Hans Blix has stated that the Iraqis are co-operating a lot more now and ARE destroying weapons. They are doing what they were told but lets face it, there is no way Iraq can possibly get out of this War because of all these added stipulations.

BTW, out of interest, y do you like the monarchy?

The PM, 27 Feb 2003: β€œTo those who say we are rushing to war, I say this: We are now 12 years after Saddam was first told by the UN to disarm; nearly six months after President Bush made his speech to the UN accepting the UN route to disarmament, nearly four months on from resolution 1441 – and even today we are offering Saddam the prospect of voluntary disarmament through the UN.”

Iraq starts to disarm (if only a little bit.) Then...

Jack Straw, 7 March 2003: Saddam has 11 days to disarm totally.

Have I got the facts wrong or does this seem ridiculous? I'm not just saying that - it really IS possible that I've got the facts wrong.
