A loud, smug "Ha!" is my catchphrase today. This is because I passed my Learner's Driving Permit test this morning. I now have a temporary card with my picture on it, which allows me to drive with my parents. In six months, and after fifty hours of driving, I take can my actual driving test and get my licence.

Nice, Wyatt. How come your permit has your picture on it? In California you don't get your picture on your permit, but mine sucks so that's probably for the best.

My dad and I went driving yesterday. 
Talk about stating the very obvious.
"There's a stop sign coming up, so push in the clutch and stop."
"Turn left up there, now slow down and turn the steering wheel."
And he made me pull over and stop whenever another car was coming the other way, and wouldn't let me go anymore that 20mph.

He's just worried... remember just as you are new to driving, he is new to helping you learn to drive.

I did that to start with too. I started off driving in a rural area, though, so I didn't have to worry too much about cars.
