Good day!
The following equation that I have noticed in our culture has always puzzled me...
Political Mindedness = Intelligence
Now, I'm not saying that politically minded people aren't smart, I'm just saying that one can be intelligent and not give a hoot about politics.
The two qualities can co-exist but they aren't co-dependant... am I making any sense?
To be perfectly honest I find politics to be silly and at times incredibly dull. Not that this is always the case, but it is quite often the case.
Anyways, I had a point to make but I seem to have forgotten it so I think I'd better stop

Actually the game of politics doesn't require alot of intelligence, just an understanding of the rules of the game
And even though it is boring (quite ) the inherent problem is that it affects your life in very direct ways whether you pay attention or not
All in all I try to find someone who is engaging to listen to, and let them translate the political-ese; then make up my own mind
And I also find common sense intelligence much more practically useful than "book smarts"

I also find it strange that we refer to politicians as stupid alot of the time, but we go around and expect it from them! You get what you paid for. I think I must be tired today because I have no idea what I'm talking about

Probably a good idea... but I don't think it's possible! Nothing but me can get me off h2g2, and lets face it, I'm not that good at doing it.

you hear left wing politics and right wing, even far right and left wing, but never cockpit or tail rudder ????, middle of the road, is dangerous you could get knocked over. Most of the people of the world want you to think their way, because its the right way, but most of the world is fighting in some form of way, so someone's wrong.
I like my way-everybody is my friend, until they prove different and I don't fall out with friends.

Don't tell Faith
Last night, the transcript (translated from Toddler to English) was:
Moon! Moon! There's the moon. Fly? Fly? Fly!
Accompanied by pointing and arm waving.
I don't think she believed me when I told her that I was sorry, but she couldn't fly to the moon...

I can point out that Wendy and the boys couldn't fly until Peter sprinkled them with pixie dust, and that there aren't any pixies around Sacramento
