I'm heading back to Georgia for a couple of weeks, helping to lay floor in the Trician mansion, and to get some more mountain time before the long hard Florida winter sets in.
Only just within cellphone range and beyond the reach of the internet i'm afraid.
Wishing you all a very thankful Thanksgiving

Hi, Alec,
I am probably too late, and you are probably incommunicado by now, but anyway have a good trip. Hard Florida winter?? You should see it here and it hasn't got going yet I hope the weather is kind to you for once.
Drop in again when you get back,.

hi websailor...
just got back from the sanity of life amongst the trees...feeding the ducks, watching the squirrels...to the insanity of SoFla, hurricane ravaged, treeless and noisy.
We've now decided to move house up to the Trician mansion in the not too distant future, probably next summer when the little tricians are out of uni and school.
Mrs T has been offered a job instructing and i suppose i can carry on inventing stuff. I've already marked out a space for a small lab amongst the trees down by the lake.
Hope all is well with everyone on here, it looks like i have a lot of catching up to do.

Hi, Alec,
Good to see you back again. It sounds a wise decision to me. I imagine it would be a bit safer there?
My friends have headed out for Florida early this morning. It doesn't seem as if being caught up in Hurricane Jeanne put them off, so Fla. must have something good about it.
Your "mansion" does sound lovely. It is freezing cold here, with a biting wind, and I have to say some Florida sunshine would be nice, but I couldn't face the upheaval caused by the travelling.
Take care,

PS. Would that take you beyond the reach of the Internet permanently or was that because you have no computer there? It would be a shame if you couldn't access HooToo.

There are some pictures of the mansion at my fotki site :

Temperatures there now are 0 C to 12 C and expecting snow at the end of the week.
Meanwhile in Florida it is usually sunny and warm...I'm having to reacclimatise to short trousers and T shirt. A nice time of year to be here though in view of the recent snowstorms elsewhere.
*wags finger at granny* I'll have you know that i intend to teach the local inhabitants the fine art of arras...perhaps one day you'll hear of that formidable darts team from 'Deliverance' country trained by an eccentric errant englishman.

oh, and with regard to the internet, it is listed as an essential item, along with running water and marmite in the Trician household.
I just need to figure out how to get DSL to the house as we're now totally spoiled.

Shudders at the thought of left-handed banjo players chucking arras
Hot and cold running Marmite? that's my kind of mansion
