From BBB,
He is still there, after further tests they have found out he has atheroma, not over sure what it is, but its something to do with the arteries as he has been getting chest pains and pains in the calves of both legs(the leg side of it is called claudication).
This could lead to an operation to remove the blocked arteries and replace them with healthy arteries from somewhere else in the body
Best i can tell you at the mo, he is still quite up beat and trying to joke , not all of them are that funny, but thats dad, but i have noticed a difference in him that is not dad, if that makes sense, wont know anymore till monday

It can be BBB, but I've had it now for 6 years, it does sadly limit ones lifestyle, depending on severity and how one responds to treatment but technology and medical advances today do give better outlooks for this condition.Leg arteries can actually be 'cleaned' and by-pass operations are becoming routine these days.
All the very best for him anyway, here's to a speedy recovery whatever.

Thanks for the update BBB, I'm sure he is in good hands at hospital. My dad is awaiting to hear back from blood tests to see if he has blocked arteries and may have to have an operation to remove blocked arteries. He also has been having chest pains and has high blood pressure which is a worry. So I can understand how you and your family are feeling. Best wishes to you and your family and I hope to see your dad back here soon

Hi bbb,
My father had a triple bypass 8 years ago where arteries were replaced using bits of wotsit from his legs. I guess that may be what is being considered for your dad. If it is then I would just say that this is now a common procedure even though it is a major opertion. My dad's in his late 70s and the op was a godsend to him - gave him a whole new lease on life. I pray it does the same for your dad too. You are all in our prayers. Please convey our love and best wishes to your dad - and take care of yourselves in the meantime.
love
Wilma
