2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Walked a bit over 3.2 miles yesturday, easily. Popped into gym, to say hi to people and show I AM still alive.
Slept a good 5 hours. Very tired today, and in more pain. More pain I expected, as nerves grow back and the bone remodels.
Oedema on legs and feet virtually gone.
The hydrocortisone gel has cleared the rash on my legs.

A good indication of just how much repair and regrowth is happening, is how hungry I AM! Eating about double normal.

I should have mentioned earlier, with being Thursday, that its exactly 2 weeks since theop.
Got a few blood results back, plus a message from my GP.
Electrolytes look good again, after my brief hyponatremic drop during surgery.
However I AM very anemic, and have been since leaving hospital.. have been prescribed iron tablets, repeat bloods next week..

If I can get the anemia sorted I can start recovering quicker I am sure.....

Mince n taties for dinner tonight.

To be fair, I AM pretty-damn astonished at the condition was in, even a few days after the op, let alone now, 2 weeks since.. all the information from the hospital said I would be a car-crash of a person, even now, and I simply was not, soon as I was out of ICU, I was basically fine.. just weird..

I had a few good walks this week but today it was too wet and windy so I stayed in with a few nice cups of smiley - coffeesmiley - biggrin

But that's okay because if I overdo the walking I might not be able to sleep for pain in my left hind leg smiley - groan

Mayb I should have mentioned it to the smiley - doctor on Wednesday but he was so pleased with my blood and its pressure it might have ruined his good mood smiley - biggrin

I never made it for the third walk.. it was horrible and wet out, and I was tired by then and full of dinner..

I've been invited to a guidet tour through some of the most spectacular countryside on my neighbouring island on Sunday. I'm hoping the weather will play along with that plan

Sounds good, hopefully the weather will behave..
Was cool enough here to run the heating first thing, for a short while. Bled the radiators, as it was first time running it since last winter.

Now its bright and sunny. Had a 2.2 mile walk earlier..

I had to turn on the heater 10 days ago or something like that already. But then I live a bit further up north than you do. Like Newcastle. And we don't get quite as much heat from the Gulf Stream as the British Isles do. In particular not over here on the eastern side

It's been a nice summer, though, if you forget July which was mostly rainy

And, by comparison it was 36 degrees C earlier today, outside for my Brother before went into the manafacturing plant.. he had to change clothes an hour later when he came out.. but if he will work in the middle East.. the temps there would kill me..

I haven't had any alcohol since 4 September and the temps don't call for that either, lol

Will join a guidet tour in the countryside around our local art museum this afternoon. If it gets boring I'll just walk away somewhere else

What kind of pain killers do they give you?

You can call me TC

Going round your local area like a tourist is a good way of passing the time. You learn quite a bit, even if you've lived there for over 30 years.

We did a little walk around some of the sights of our home town yesterday with our 3-year-old grandson and discovered a well-kept playground we'd never seen before!

Think the last alcoholic drink I had was the26 September, 2 nights before the op. They never said not to drink, but it seemed a good idea..

The main problems walking near where we live is that the pavements have mostly collapsed and not been repaired. Also, since everyone stopped thinking, and instead looks down at their mobile phone, they walk into me. Not normally a problem, but a bit ouchy now with nothing much holding my chest, ribs and shoulders and arms in place..
We mainly stick to the same few walks we know well just round local streets, away from the crowds.. its a piyy there isnt any interesting walkss close..
Done nearly 4 miles already today, we went out for lunch
