That was last night, that's ages ago. I'd switched to Jan Ullrich by 9am this morning.

And now I'm off to investigate the various merits of a couple of tennis players.

OK I've done my research, and the choice is between:

a) A seeded player who was a semi-finalist at Queens two weeks ago, where he lost to the competition's eventual winner.

b) Some 18 year old kid who doesn't like playing on grass very much.

Hmmm.... tough choice, not!

Ha!

This is why I lose out. That win bonus wasn't there last time I checked. Now it's suddenly appeared and the deadline's gone. smiley - cross

Saturday, 25th June - 8am

The alpha account got capped at £27million this morning smiley - biggrin

This vindicates my decision for the last two weeks to downtrade each Friday in the hope of a better week the next week. My total wealth in playing this game now stands at £64m, which in cash terms at least puts me ahead of Bottletop. Though of course he is two weeks ahead of me in the cycle, and should regain top spot the next time that he gets capped.

The beta account is doing rather nicely. Today it's made its first appearance on the front page leader board at 27th place for 1,371.42% growth in the last 7 days. Which is nice smiley - smiley

This is sort of indicative of where the alpha account would have ended up had it not been for the capping. But it should be noted that the alpha account did have a marginally different strategy last weekend by investing in the golf win bonus whereas the beta account didn't. I reckon this would mean that the alpha account would finish the seven days on about 1,295% and 37th-ish place.

All in all, a very successful week.

And now I've got to run off and sell a rugby player and buy into a top moving share... smiley - run

I forgot to mention just then that this morning we also need to give a big hand to McKay The Disorganised, aka "BeamishRed", who has just been capped for the very first time and now has two to his name. Well done Sir smiley - applausesmiley - bubbly

Well that's one win bonus safely boxed off for this morning smiley - smiley

And now a quick message to those who decided to buy Jonny Wilkinson shares at over £17.50 each for this morning's win bonus - you're a bunch of muppets smiley - nahnah

Don't forget the tennis win bonus this afternoon. No Ady Murray for me - not with the price Nalbandian's at.

And I still think downtrading is unethical.

Sunshine, this beta account has been in Nalbandian since 11 o'clock last night. It only dipped out for 20 minutes to buy some rugby shares - Daniel Carter - at 8 this morning. There is no way that Murray can do it for a second time, and at £7.50+ per share the return would be rubbish even if he could pull it off.

Given that Sebastian Loeb looks good for the Greek Rally - 26 seconds ahead, and has won every stage so far today. I think that there is a reasonable chance that I'll land all three win bonuses this weekend.

The upshot of that is that I could pass the £2m barrier on Monday afternoon when the bonuses are paid out. If that's the case then I'm parking the account until next Saturday. Downtrading on a Friday afternoon is a right pain, literally. Plus it knackers your percentage growth figure during the next week, and maximising my leader board position is the new challenge that I'm looking at these days.

So there. No more downtrading for GD. So you can get off your high horse smiley - tongueout

Actually scrub what I said about parking the account on Monday.

If I do hit all the win bonuses this weekend, then there is a chance that I'll make Top Trader on Tuesday if I keep on playing for another day. And as you know: whoever is Top Trader on Tuesday gets the interview and the goodie bag smiley - bigeyes

No chance, he's still the top mover. And he probably will be for a couple of hours yet.

Darren Campbell is the tip for the next top mover smiley - ok

50-50 with Guillermo Coria, who has a very low price and seems to be stirring.

Patience, dear boy. There is such a thing as jumping the gun.

Nalbandian is *still* the top mover. His price is going up at more than twice the rate of Coria, and nearly three times that of Campbell. His time to fall will come, it's just not right now that's all.

Oh, and you'll get nowhere in life holding two different shares whilst day-trading smiley - tongueout
