Mala, I have just been nosing following links and threads an found your puppy. She is gorgeous. Such a sweet face and showing no sign of trauma you would expect in a rescue dog.

No - she's fitting right in. My mother says she's better behaved than any of her other "babies" ever were, even climbs into her crate at bedtime of her own free will...
While the kittens who are meant to be indoors are still dancing on the neighbour's plow in the moonlight

I shall look forward to seeing how she grows, I think she will be a lovely dog.
I had a dog years ago but she pined so much when the boys went to school that we decided to find her a home where there were young children again and she settled in fine.
I don't have pets now, just visiting badgers, foxes, squirrels and birds who cost a fortune

Feeding them all through the winter?
Right now, we're worried about the cat. He's falling to bits. He has only three teeth left - but that's been the case for a few years. He's always been a bit sickly, though, and recently had to have an eye removed because of a tumour.
Now it seems to have gotten into his jaw, too, and he's scrawny - he's just not a healthy kitty!

Yes, feeding them all through the winter, except the badgers disappear mid December until mid March which gives us a break
Sad about your cat. I suppose it is if he is not in pain. Otherwise perhaps it would be kinder to do the difficult thing. I have never had to do that with a pet, but I know it is hard.

Dog is almost six months old now, doing fine. Very sweet, gentle with everything and everyone, doesn't chase things (except for one of our cats, who loves it and chases her right back). Quite obedient MOST of the time...
Very musical, too, so far she has reproduced Beethoven's Ninth, Mozart's Turkish March, Lilli Burlero, and the jingle of a popular fabric softener ad on her squeaky ball... thank you SO MUCH AGAIN for providing that, Tav, it really helps us concentrate...
Jack, our old tomcat, has inoperable cancer and was sent home to die five weeks ago. So far he's still going strong, though... and Corvi, the dog, is taking good care of him, lying next to him, guarding him, licking his sore spots, and surrounding him with her toys just in case he wants to play.
Today she ate her first printer cable - I wonder whether we need to deworm her now?
