Hey kea why don't you hunt down that Della Wars site. 3Dots may still have the link, and if it was six sevens' creation you are pals..yes? The person who told me that it was six sevens asked me not to say that it was them who told me so I won't. So that maybe nonsense. But someone made it.

But this thing was truly scary. But if you want the Della Wars documented for cultural purposes..that's your first port of call I'd say.

LW was incredibably disruptive on site at the time, there certainly issn't any cover up or anything, there really isn't much or anythign to cover up.
He was constantly being asked to stop spamming threads and suchlike and just continued to do so. His posting behavior had begun to drive many other researchers from the site, and certainly caused a huge amount of people to unsubscribe from Ask h2g2.
The BBC were edgy and crap at doing anything about it for a long long while.
And, don't suppose all of us knew his entire medical history, I certianly didn't until long after he's left the site.
We all on here, each day, post things, and write posts which are discriminatory against certain people who might be, or become researchers and users of the site, to create a situation in which the entire site, and every post and activity on it pandered to each and every potential person, would be utterly unworkable, this very post for example, containes many words which would need to be replaced by others, in order to lower the reading age necessary for reading the post, and simularly most edited entrys would need to be re-written in order to lower the reading age; in order to fit in with recognized guidelines regarding accessibility for the disabled and readability...
Its impossible, in a mixed community as hotoo to be able to provide an environment and experience able to work for anyone and everyone, just for as wide a potential population as possible.
LW was, though it probably seems strange now with what bits of his activity still remain on site, close to distroying the site. yeh... really is hard to see that now, but it was, and as I say, I for one at the time never knew he was disabled, only that he was highly disruptive, unable or unwilling to alter his behavior and not willing/able to cchange the way he posted..

Yes I was around when he came here and it was 100% obvious to me he had a learning disability..like he was a bit stupid and simple.

I've had so much crp here from people playing really nasty games and hurting me..he seemed like nothing compared to how much they upset me..and still regularly do.

I hated how he was treated compared to utter bstrds who got away scot free with their nasty calculating games.

Anyway let it go...it's just my take...and to do with shock about kea really.

Effers you say in post 10 that I wasn't, or wouldn't answer you. That is because I went to bed. I was hoping someone would see sense and have the decorum to leave things well alone. Sadly, I was wrong.

Lord Wolfden didn't have learning problems. He had a disability that eventually killed him. The medication he was taking caused the majority of his problems. He was unable/relunctant to 'toe the line' and began opening threads telling us what time it was, and what he was doing at that time.

People did try to befriend, him. But, he didn't make it easy for anyone. We tried to ask him to join the conversations properly, but he wouldn't. The Italics dealt with the bullying and inappropriate postings by putting Researchers on pre-moderation. Some were even closed out for a few months. Lord Wolfden was closed out for his own benefit, but when offered the chance to come back he could promise to behave. Eventually all his conversations were taken offline.

What none of us knew at that time, was ... He was bored rigid! He was placed in front of his PC, with a fishtank on one wall, and the window on the other. His wife abandoned him in that one place each day. Eventually he was taken into a care home, where he died.

Effers, I hope this explanation is what you wanted. I, for one still feel the pain of that lonely man. Please let him rest with dignity and stop flaming his thread.

Actually I just read what you posted about his personal situation. Jesus Christ I'll make sure no-one here ever knows my circumstances to have them paraded around like that...making me appear the most abject piece of crp...and telling people how bored I am.

And you have not the faintest idea how compassionate I am as a person.

Effers I can understand why you are angry as you feel that Lord Wolfram was bullied and allowances weren't made for his inability to engage socially.

But do you understand how your behaviour impacts on people here? You vent your anger at individuals not just in PS but in public forums. You consistantly refer to games that people are deliberatly playing to mess with your head, the lies, half truths, how hurt and angry you are by the way people treat you here. If someone disagrees with you on any subject, you have a go or dismiss them completely.

You do that on threads and then just walk away.

I'm sorry to say this but you need to step back and reflect on how you are reacting to people and events and how that is affecting the people around you.

Lord Wolfden bored a lot of people with his posts and was often ready with a swift rejoinder when challenged, so I don't entirely agree with Effers.

However, in this thread, she has merely shown concern for the way he was treated, and voiced her disappointment at the unnecessary concealment of the truth - hardly the heinous crime that some of the normally 'smiling faces' around here allege.

Yeah I had such a soft spot for him.

Maybe it's partly also to do with my weird conceptual art take on stuff as well.

I loved those weird time posts he did..and that milk thread.

But he had a good heart and that's sometimes hard to find.

I have to disagree here. Effers I say again I understand how you feel about LW. But you have opened a can of worms here, steamed in without a thought for anyone elses feelings on the matter and in the process you have deeply upset people and angered them. When they have pointed this out to you, you have continued to trample on them.

If it was just this thread I would let it go, but it is not.
