I'm more distraught...

I'm more distraught than I can possibly express about the end of BBC hootoo. It's so symbolic about the end of something cultural.
When the whole pathetic fanfare of new hootoo was announced..I posted,
To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow, [emphasis added]
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
To the last syllable of recorded time;
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools

For me it goes well beyond sadness, I suppose that's what comes of being a mental. (At least they can't steal Shakespeare from us.)

It if anything, has made me realise how much of a large part of my life this website has been... for what, about ten years.
I still can't imagine what the world without it will be like, frankly its too terrifying to consider it for too long, or think on it too hard, I think It'd make me cry if I did think on it too much. if it comes to pass, and it doesn't carry on in some form, rescued by some way, then I'll be leaving and loosing a lot of friends.
I'm more distraught...

Yep that was my problem earlier.
Too much thinking has always been a problem of mine. I don't think it fits in our modern world.

Thinking has seemingly become quite an unpopular thing in recent years, discouraged almost, unfortunately I spent most of my adult life learning how to think and its just one of those habbits which is hard to get out of...
(don't tell anyone, I mean I've my poker-faced reputation to uphold and everything; I did have a weepy moment earlier... )

I don't really have much hope about new hootoo somewhere else, because I think Aunty's frame around it, made it.
Yeah there might be some new thing called h2g2 somewhere else, but it won't be hootoo. But I will most certainly get behind it and send my Licence Fee to it.
In many ways I think my grief is about the death of the BBC.
Time to grow up I suppose Never been any good at that.

I've been wondering where you'd got to.
Thankfully my curiosity about the 'new researcher'
named 'nothing' brought me here to discover YOU.
I feel badly about your stepping in the doo-doo with Nick
about the use of the word Nazi. In a way, your earlier thoughts
of writing to the head of BBC have born fruit. Who knew he'd
be lurking around waiting for someone to toss a potato masher
at the Beeb.
BTW, in future, when you wanna refer to the workings of the
National Socialist Party of the Third Right simply alter the
spelling, but not the meaning, and just call them Nasties or
even Nazties.

i just caught up on the anouncment thread and the one thing i now have is self pity
hootoo might survive and it might not, but whatever happens, when they turn out the lights, I'll still be stood in the empty old place on my own, in the dark.
its at work i'm mostly in here and i can only get BBC sites at work!!!!

Just woke up around 3am. Fired up computer..and then was very sick on the area in front of my keyboard. (And NO I'm not looking for any sympathy..but it happended and I reckon its okay to post here because its a journal thing - at least it is in Brunel...but I always start throwing up when this thing happens...it's weird).
I think its about the death of BBC hootoo. I'm trying to be optimistic about a new thing...but I don't really feel so optimistic about it. Too much 'thinking' problem again.
Zero concentration abilities, apart from posting here.
It helps me to write this down here. That's why I'm doing it.

For what it's worth, Effers, although I obviously don't have the attachment to and cultural associations with the BBC that you do, so the present situation can in no way affect me in the way or as deeply as it does you, I feel some large degree of empathy because our present Prime Minister, a man who has a vision of my country which is antithetical to my own and to the vision that has been developed and built upon for all of my life, has just celebrated his fifth year in power, his fifth year of trying to dismantle our country. It is only the fact that he has only been able to manage to pull together a minority government which has prevented the society I know from being completely destroyed in the name of corporate efficiency. Thankfully, we still have our CBC and it is still strong. My 85 year old father, a proud Canadian, a veteran of WWII, a native of Quebec, a voter in every election in which he's been eligible to vote*, who has seen so many changes for the better in our society, has told me quite clearly that he feels that the country will be finished if this Prime Minister ever gets a majority.
I think I might have a bit of a feeling for your pain but all I can do is offer a

*My old father has also told me that he has never actually cast a vote for the individual who ended up elected. I'm fortunate (I suppose) that in a Province legendary for it's right wing attitudes, I am presently represented at all three levels of our government by the progressive, socially conscious people for whom I voted.
But, since both Federally and Provincially my representatives are deep in the opposition benches, it's done me little good.

I'm so relieved you're on this site anhaga.
I'm sick to death of my posts being misunderstood.
I post about having bipolar disorder even though it gives me a lot of shame and people seem not to have the first clue about what that means.
It's like not being one person because of the severe mood swings..but I've often got the impression on this site that only certain sorts of people fit here. Ed the Bonobo talked about toxic h2g2. My own opinion is that is both wonderful and awful.
I'm trying to do everything in my power to save it. But sometimes I also think, it.
