Some good news for once...!

I'm so HAPPY! I get to go to UCR! YAY! Of course, I'll have to live at home, and get a job to pay for my books, and all that carp, but...
I'm incredibly happy! Looks like my luck has taken a twist... for the better, at last!

Lemme guess what you're saying.... U stands for University, and since you said you were on the west coast, C for California, R for... Research?
I get an hour of colledge credit for taking this C++ class if I pass the test this year. heh.

Well, after hours upon hours of makeup work for Astronomy, and writing some stellar essays for English, Mom got convinced to take me to see the financial aid counselor at UCR yesterday--which just happened to be the deadline for the statement of intent to register (and of course the deposit). Talked with the counselors and found out that a Stafford loan and my Governor's Scholarships would cover tuition for the first year. I have to get a summer job to pay for books, and I'll probably spend some portion of first quarter getting hauled around by my parents (the sooner I learn to drive, and drive *well*, the better)... but I get to go! Which I didn't think was possible, with the way Mom was acting...
Of course, she said "I can still change my mind, you'd better prove you're responsible enough"... but that's easy. Things are going smoothly now.
