So. London, eh?
Well, what can be said that others haven't already?
It was a great weekend, one I was looking forward to imensely, and I wasn't dissapointed.
Arrived on time. 17.40(Thank you train company)
OP called me about 20 minutes out of Kings X to say he was just leaving to meet me. I decided to stand near the entrance to the underground so I could look out for him, but true to form he fooled me completely by appearing from the opposite direction.
Having been in contact with a few others, we decided to head to the pub they were in to meet them. Suffice to say many beers were consumed.
I finally met Shazz, TM and the Dutch contingency, then Mina & Galaxy Babe arrived with Mark, Peta & Abi in tow. That was cool.
OP and I finally staggered back to his place, having been thrown out the pub at closing time, along with everyone else. Only problem with the pub was it was stifflingly hot, no air movement. Whew.
Saturday morning saw us bleary eyed and heading off to get some food. We headed towards town on the tube, but got off at Camden. Finally fullfilled another lifelong ambition by going round Camden market.
Time was marching on, so we hot footed it up to the meeting point outside All-Sait's church, next to Broadcasting House, where we met the Dutch, EV, Lis, Menza, Blubottle, Joanna and many more.
The 'Experience' was interesting. Much hilarity and taking the Michael ensued throughout the 1.5 hour tour, (plus I think the contingency managed to clear the shelves of all HHGttG Series videos!)
Then it was decision time. What pup to retire to before heading to the chosen venue for the evening.
OP, EV, LiS & myself headed to an Irish pub, consumed a few fints and talked comedy for an hour or two, then weaved our way to the final venue, to be greeted by a pub full of people shouting "Where have you lot been? We were getting worried!"
Many more familiar names had faces put to them as the evening went on, and I made a number of new friends (hunt the photos)
Eventually we got thrown out of there when it closed. I was the last person out, to much cheering! And OP, Pegasus and myself propped each other up as we headed off to catch a bus back to OP's.
After what seems like too few hours sleep (It was. I woke up about 6/7am, stinking headache ) a call for coffee went up and the tree of us dragged our sorry selves to the nearest purveyor of hot coffee. If you happen to have seen 3 zombies on your travels in Nth London, chances are it was us.
So finally we headed back into town to Kings X and my train home, to be met by EV, Mina & partner, & GB. GB was heading home too, and luck was with us, cos she managed to get a seat on my train, which happened to be going through where she needed to get to. I should have slept on the train, but couldn't.
I got home at 6pm. I should have gone to bed for a couple of hours. I didn't. So now you see me posting from w**k. It's 3.50am. I have been awake for about 21 hours and still have another 6 to go before blessed bed takes my weary frame.
Was it worth it? You better believe it!
Finally special thanks to the Italics one and all for a great time, OP for the floor, Pegasus for lending an ear to a drunk Scot, GB for some gossip making photos and BaldBloke, Zed & Coely for making up the rest of our quiz team. (1 point short of a prize maybe next time, if I'm allowed out again) and finally the rest of the folks who turned up and made the evening what it was.
all round.
I loved every minute of it.

You're welcome honey.
*wonders who the Muse of Shoes is*
I'll have to ask Archangel Dragonfly
Hope you catch up on your sleeptime, both of you
I have to write my version of events for the Post so I better keep it relatively clean.
Shame.

So far no I'm not enjoying my time away. I've been feeling pretty rough since the weekend. I'm sure it'll get better once I'm away from everything in a nice place where I can just be. If not getting completely out of it a bbq next saturday seems like a very good option.
So far the weather looks like it'll cutrail some of the things I wanted to get done while I'm away as well.
Not very good is it

We had a thunderstorm here last night, had to unplug my modem
This morning no sun & drizzly, then we got a full-on storm, but that's blown over now & the sun's out!
That was the weather forecast for today....
Was anybody else on a downer yesterday?
I had bad withdrawal symptoms.
I'm trying to get to the Dutch meet that Shazz is arranging for the end of October though
Apparently they put us up
So only fares needed.

Oh, Phil. I'm sorry to hear that. My fault for dragging you out and making it a 3 night bender
Really hope you enjoy the next week tho. You need the change of scenery, i think. End of one phase and the beginning of another.
Clear the head, recharge the batteries, both physical & mental.
I understand completely.
AGB, everyone was on a downer since Sunday, i think. One reason I am trying to remain in a happy mood despite the Shift thing.
Still working just now, so I must be doing something right.

Yes a change of scenery is needed I think. Get out and see the world and all that while I've still got the chance. Batterires need recharging. Trying to work out how though right now.

I am sure you will think of something. BTW, where are you just now? Still at your parents? What have you done over the last few days? Sorry email has had to wait. Not getting used to this shift change at all. Constantly tired, and everyone has had to be put on hold email wise, haven't they AGB. No one has recieved mail from me these last few days. Might get a chance to this evening.
Oh just had an idea. I could draft emails at work, then send them when I get home! That would work!
