I guess fewer people study Latin these days. 
In Latin, bacterium is the singular form, and the plural form are bacteria. Likewise, datum is singular, and data plural, unless you're talking about an android on "Star Trek: the next generation"

I'm not sure about agenda, though I suspect that it is a feminine noun, in which case the singular would be agenda, and the plural agendae.
Not that anyone outside a monastery/university/law firm has cared much one way or another since the 18th century.

It is indeed agendum (neuter), the verbal noun from the verb to act.
Agendum est = action needed. Eandum est = time to go.

I'm glad to see that I'm gone but not forgotten.
It's better than being forgotten but not gone.
Some of you *may* miss me in August while I am in Central Europe.
I don't know if the hotels in Prague and Budapest have Internet hookups. If not, you won't hear from me from August 1 through August 11. 
As for my efforts at humor, I'll grant that they are hit or miss (Gosho, I'll email you some pain-killer for your ), but I think of H2G2 as a humor site that has just enough serious content thrown in to satisfy the BBC's subscribers.
I am still trying to figure out what to do about the modern world. Did we pass the point of no return whehn I wasn't looking, or did someone wheel in an imitation, bogus world while I was asleep? Inquiring minds want to know.
(Or, you can just assume that I am insane. Some people already do.
