Hey, Trill should not be too far away from Frankfurt, are you?

Just as it should be, too... the things I've had to sacrifice to be here, and the tremendous torture I'm put through every single day... do you think there's a medal in this for me somewhere?

Spiff's in Strasbourg and I'm not far. Whisky is in Lyon, which is the next nearest, but quite far.

Well, I'm arriving in Strasbourg tomorrow evening... I'm pretty sure Spiff said he was in Paris at the moment though, w**king or something... I can't remember where my askh2g2 thread was though...

In fact, Basel's probably nearer Strasbourg than Lyons is.... *checks map*
Yup - Lyon is three times as far away as Basel is.

Ohmygod tomorrow.
It's my husband's birthday so we are going out for a posh meal.
How long are you staying? There's lots to see. Is Spiff really away. Isn't that amazing. You come all the way from Oz and people b***er off to Paris.

Well, I'm in Strasbourg from this evening until some time on Monday... I *may* get to an internet cafe to check my email and here while I'm there, I may not
I don't know, how much is a ticket to Basel?

There's a train leaving tomorrow at 17:55 h gets you to Basel (SBB) at 19:15 costing EUR 16,90
The next one leaves Strasbourg at 18:17 and gets into Bale St Jean (presumably on the French side then) and costs EUR 16,30
The one after that leaves at 18:17 and arrives at the Schweizer Bahnhof at 19:36.
For the first one no reservation necessary. Is recommended for the other two. Basel Schweizer Bahnhof is the usual one - there is also a German and a French side as Basel (Bâle) is on the corner of all three countries. German is spoken there. But that doesn't mean Germans can understand what they're saying!
On line info for the French trains I got from http://www.voyages-sncf.com/dynamic/
