An interesting condition.
Sol Posted Aug 14, 2006
Thanks guys. Body seems to have caught up with the situation and is now spasming. Am remaining on the sofa for today. Am developing a certain sympathy for the whole 'let's not employ women of childbearing age' thing.
An interesting condition.

Stay warm, Solnushka. I will be thinking of you on your sofa today.

Be very kind to yourself Sol, it's a horrible thing to have happened and it will take your body a while to settle down again. Did your doctor sign you off for a couple of weeks?
Doubt there is much I can say to help right now but I'm thinking of you
An interesting condition.

He'll say it himself, I know, but Z was really upset to hear about this Sol.
He wasn't sure whether or not to text you. It can sometimes be useful to have a as a friend for additional background information, so do ring him or text him if there's stuff you want to know now that you could not take in at the time. He's very fond of you and would be more than happy to talk, or text, or email, or whatever.

Sol, as I said elsewhere, I'm so sorry to hear.
Please take care of yourselves, and take some quiet time together.

In the hospital they seemed to thing I'd be good to go yesterday, although to be fair I did my usual thing of when confronted by the Doctor on his rounds of nodding and forgetting to ask what will happen to my body next. I do wish they'd say. They always tell you what could go wrong ('...raging infection... we nick the bladder... hemmorage...') but rarely mention the important points like you _will_ be in screaming agony for up to a week - and it's odd you aren't already. Them trying to chuck pain killers down me should have been a clue I suppose.
So I do appreciate Z's offer, Ben - please tell him that and I shall think of him as on call if I panic. But I've been bothering the NHS direct people who, as usual, have been helpful in filling in the gaps, and, oddly, the worst of the pain seems to have burned itself out for now too. I'm going to see my sensible woman GP on Thursday as well.
I probably just ought to tell work I'll be off till the end of the week and have done with it. I'll see if my temp comes back later today and then decide.
The NHS Direct nurse echoed my mum's point when she, in the most tactful manner possible, enquired - giving a distint impression that she knew the answer - if this were my first pregnancy in response to to my enquiries about precisely how much this sort of thing was supposed to hurt... ('you've never had contractions, have you?' says my mum in a thoughtful voice). Ignore that last, Kelli
Of course, it doesn't help that I'm a terrible hypochondriac when I'm ill, but there you go.
An interesting condition.

Seriously Sol, get the GP to sign you off for a couple of weeks - you'll need a bit of space and time to recover physically as well as everything else. *much* better to have the time out and want to go back to work early than to go in and find you wish you'd stayed at home.
You and your other half need to focus on looking after each other - how is he coping?
An interesting condition.

I have to say, I'm leaning towards the 'take the rest of the week off' option at least. The only thing I feel bad about with regards to that is that it didn't occur to me sooner. I keep phoning nup and saying 'well maybe tommorrow...' It's odd how shock affects you. I found out on Weds last week, and at the time, it didn't occur to me I wouldn't be at work the next day. And then the next day came, and frankly...
B's great. He's not doing great, mind, he just is great. He's coping y fixing things. He does need some looking after though, so part of the rest of the week out to be dedicated to that.
An interesting condition.

B knows you all, even if he hasn't met you. He'll be delighted by the hug, I'm sure. Kind thoughts from everybody much appreciated actually.
Took the week off. Work had reached the same conclusion too.
