One of the cats went over the balcony this morning. 7th floor. We thought he'd vanished in the lift, saw a poster from the RSPCA saying 'Cat Found' & thought they'd found him in the lobby. Turns out they didn't. I saw the f*cking bloodstain on the ground when I was looking for him & hoped it wasn't connected, then thought it wasn't, now know it is. The RSPCA reckon he's got severe facial trauma & they can't x-ray him. I don't hold out much hope.
He's my flatmate's cat, about 18 months old, the cutest little SOB you've ever seen. I didn't realise how much I cared about him until today.
Here's hoping (but I am realistic).

I obviously won't be around for a couple of hours - going to the RSPCA hospital in Holloway.

Roymondo,
Hope you get some good news, and that the little mite gets sorted out.
Give me an update when you return.

I'm not really here Posted Jul 23, 2005
I hope the cat is ok - I've heard that the 7th floor is the worst for cats to fall out of because they don't have time to land safely.

Just got back from the RSPCA. He's alive & pumped with morphine (or feline equivalent thereof), so probably quite happy!
He's got facial trauma, so they reckon he might have landed on his face (I really don't want to think about that), which means he may not have anything broken or any internal problems (apparently the bladder's a bad one, for obvious reasons) but they can't x-ray him as, on top of the shock, the anaesthetic needed might kill him. He got up to move when I stroked him and didn't seem hindered by broken limbs etc, but with the drugs it's hard tell.
I can't believe I'm this upset about a bleedin' cat! I've come to love the little sod, and he's not even mine!
Thanks for your messages, they're very much appreciated. Next 24 hours are critical, so I'll let you know what happens.

Roymondo, I'm not a pet lover by any manner of means but it is still an animal, and cannot treat itself, so sympathy for the , and TLC for you

Sorted out a bottle of Morrisons Scotch (£11.49/l). We knew we'd either be celebrating relief or drowning sorrows. As it turns out it's a bit of both.
I'm not really an animal lover (though I'd never do an animal any harm) but when they're around you do get attached. He's a lovely little chap (I might stick a photo on my website if I can figure out how to get them off my mate's 'phone) and I can't stop thinking about his plunge (I can't think of a beter way of putting it).
Grrrr. If my subsequent posts become a little fuzzy you can blame Morrisons!

It would appear that Harry's doing OK! I can't believe it. 7 bloody floors and he just seems to have a bit of facial bruising (there may be some damage underneath, but they don't think so).
7 floors! On to concrete! Blimey!!!!!
Here's hoping there's nothing nasty lurking underneath (and that he hasn't developed a serious morphine habit.)
