Depending on where you've put it in your room, it could just be because of the carpet pins around the edge of the floor. The wedges should work, but if you're worried you could always screw it into the wall

You should always fix it to the wall. I work for a company that makes wardrobes. Ours include wall brackets and screws and a big exclamation mark in the assembly instructions.

Actually in light of TC's comment I have to revise my comment and agree, you SHOULD fix your wardrobe to the wall.
The shelves I've just taken down weren't attached and they'd gone from straight to a 45 degree angle over the course of a couple of years. It was only being supported by a bracket hitting my chest of drawers - which luckily was attached the wall - and some wedged books at the top...and I definitely noticed it shifting more in the past few months. Very scary!
So go with the very wise (and most tip top) TC.

That's the first time anyone's ever cracked that one, Emily!

my blessed son-in-law has offered to wallpaper the dining room and replace the skirting boards. I am almost beside myself with joy. This means I won't have to save for a year to hire a professional to do the job.

That calls for a decorating party with loud music and a crate of .
Or a cup of and The Archers on the radio - which ever you prefer.

The wallpapering is done, it's super fresco so will need painting, which I can do after my thing. I managed to gloss one length of skirting board before had to give up due to pain and breathlessness. It's going to be a long, slow job but we'll get there... *fingers crossed*

I am having a new bathroom built. From scratch. Even the floor is being replaced.
Meanwhile I have neither water nor shower cabin nor toilet
But it makes it so much nicer to look forward to

oh I remember that feeling! But it *is* so worth it
Just in case you've forgotten, I had a new bathroom (shower room) fitted and it was worth the trauma!

We had ours done about 10 years ago. I enjoyed the improvised showers with buckets of water filled from the kitchen tap. (I put a large baby bathtub on the floor in the cellar, spread out beach towels on the floor and splashed away.) The new bathroom was certainly worth it!

Looking just at your Journal headings, GB - are you sure you're not doing too much at the moment. Do take it easy!

I am only doing what I can TC, thanks. Some days just ordinary housework beats the hell out of me, but others I can be OK most of the day. Earlier this week I managed an hour in the garden, tidying & trimming, but when I went to water my new bedding plants I couldn't lift the full watering can so had to do lots of trips with just a little. Got the job done but it took ages! Only ten days now to my angiogram procedure, which at least is a step in the right direction for my health

Don't GB! Painting's fun! Plus, if you're not rushing and can keep the room empty(ish) for ages it'll be fine better to take it slow and do a good job than rush and smother your skirting boards
(I'll have to do a runner (or a lot of sanding) when I leave my parents house )

I wouldn't rush it, and anyway the last piece of skirting board hasn't been fitted yet, there's some needed either side of the patio door. I'll need to get them primed, undercoated and glossed before I begin emulsioning the wallpaper. Anyway, the carpet is off the grippers now (couldn't paint the skirts without ripping it up) so it's in a pile () in the middle of the floor. I really don't want to be manoeuvring a chair and my paint tin around that

No, that's never fun, I managed to drop my paintbrush on the carpet at one stage as I tried to squeeze behind my chest of drawers...thank god for Flash Wipes!
I'm at the fun stage of putting everything back...though for some reason there's a load of things I can no longer get to fit! So I have piles of stuff in the middle of the room
Hope the paint goes on well and watch your feet on the carpet runners!

I didn't get around to make pictures until the new floor was in place, but now I'm taking loads of pictures - and with a bit of luck I may find some old pictures from before the w*rk started
Can hardly wait to show off
