It is released on August 27 in Sweden. Due to subtitling, I suppose. I will feel like a right eejit when I finally see it, and will look awfully sad posting anything about it that long after 'everybody else' has seen it.
Spoilers are welcome though, but more important is your opinion!

Yes. I saw Hitchhikers on the release day.
I wasn't overwhelmed or over-awed by it. Glad I didn't take mi with me. My favourite moment was spotting the original Marvin from the BBC series. I guess the fact I'm not one of the many that really rate Martin Freeman didn't help. I thought Mos Def, Sam Rockwell, the gorgeous Bill Nighy and voice of Alan Rickman were all wonderful and the Dolphin song too... Trillian and Arthur Dent weren't really brought to life in my perception.
And I may have said before that the Ian Paisley look-alikes they got for the Vogons were visual treat.

I've seen a pic of the Vogons and they do look good. I read a review that said that Dent takes way too much of a background role in the film version; somebody else was saying that a lot of the jokes didn't work because they had been so foreshortened that they had no buildup. Would you agree with those criticisms?

Hoom.
Let me put it this way... Watching the repeats of Hitchhikers on BBC2 I laughed alot... I didn't laugh alot at the cinny.
Dent seemed to be something of a non-entity and the attempt to make abit more of love story between Dent and Trillian left me cold.
And the was given no explination, so it seemed like an unfunny attempt at being random.
