They've revived Misc Chat and shifted most of the conversational threads out of askh2g2 - largely because a certain individual is spamming most of them with constant inane drivel and adding many of his own.

Oddly enough the net effect of this was to make me subscribe to askh2g2 for the first time in years - and through that, I have got involved in various other threads and lo and behold I too have become an idle chat-er...

I've just read some of the threads involved. The jury's out in my head still, but I can see why some people may be annoyed

He is either a combination of very rude and very ignorant but somehow very sensitive - or else he is just a troll playing us all very effectively.

But whenever anyone tries to explain to him exactly how he's being annoying - ie ruining perfectly good worthwhile and enjoyable threads by flooding them with his spam - he just either refuses to accept what they're saying, or apologises and carries on doing exactly the same thing.

I was feeling a bit whimsical this morning and thought I'd see if this had any effect on the situation. At the very least, it's given a lot of people a good laugh...
