Number Six

(Dexy's Midnight Runners first album, side 2, track 3, if my memory
serves me correctly)

Or to be less oblique, after two years of being trapped on the very bottom rung of the BBC Sport career ladder due to the implosion of the TV Sport market, I've just found out that one of my hare-brained ideas has finally come off!

My application for the interdepartmental attachments scheme has been successful - as of some time in October, I'll be going to Leeds for three months to work on Sports News for BBC Look North. Woohoo!

Mind you, this may well impact on my h2g2-ing... what do you think I should drop if it comes to it - Scouting or Subbing?

Great news Six! smiley - bubbly

It depends what you enjoy more- I was both, and am currently only a Scout- I'd say Scouting gives more opportunies to interact with other Researchers, whereas Subbing results in more obvious content.

Damn, that doesn't say what it's supposed to. Too much smiley - ale and smiley - stiffdrink

Ah ha!

Knowing me Ferrettbadger, knowing you Number Six!

What do you prefer doing? Subbing or Scouting?

I think it really comes down to that.

How was Mexico BTW?

Oh no, I'm still far too far down the food chain for presenting! Maybe if I'm lucky I might get my voice on the odd match report or something by the time the three months are up.

Partridge? Could turn out to be scarily near the truth. I'd rather be Stuart Hall, but I probably haven't got the charisma.

As for the other thing, well, I probably enjoy Scouting more than Subbing but being around PR enough to Scout properly takes up more time, I reckon. I suppose I'll have to see how it goes...

Oh, say hi to Peter Levy for me, won't you?

I doubt he'll remember me, but he interviewed me once in Scunthorpe.
