Puerto Escondido is lovely, although it being the rainy season means it pelts down for about three hours a day...
I have to say, I feel really tall at the moment! I've always thought of myself as being a medium-small sort of bloke (5' 7½", if you must know) but I must say I find myself towering over your average Mexican... strange no-ones mentioned this about them before.
I had a fun Saturday morning in the one spot hereabouts where I could get a Short Wave signal and pick up the World Service... all went well for the first hour of 'Saturday Sportsworld', and then the signal suddenly faded. I then spent the next hour-and-a-half (excluding nipping out to buy new batteries, which didn't make any difference) desperately clinging to what was left of the signal. With my radio at maximum volume and my ear pressed to the loudspeaker, I could just about hear John Motson's second-half meanderings from Molineux, and then hung on to hear James Alexander Gordon utter the immortal words 'and now, on to the Pools News!'. Marvellous. He also said something about 'Plymouth Argyle 3 Brighton & Hove Albion 3', which was less marvellous.
I've adopted Chivas, of Guadalajara, as my Mexican team. Mainly because I've been needing a new pair of shinpads for a while, and the set that fitted me best in the market in Oaxaca (most were too small, which was odd...) had the Chivas team badge on it. Given the way I became an Argyle fan, it seems fair enough. A quick look at the Mexican league standings reveals them to be suitably rubbish... I've since bought an El Cheapo replica shirt, and a key ring.
Finally, I've invented the God of Mexican Launderettes - El Socko, to whom i sacrificed a couple of my smalls this morning...
Hasta luego,

Good skills, the Brighton game was properly amazing though (bad result) but what a fight back.
P.S. and by far the best own goal EVER.
