Today we have a pentium! A 486 no longer!
We danced around the house in a line of conga!
(Well, you try making that rhyme! 
Come on, I want solutions and lots of them! )
Then I thought of Ottox... 
You know, if Ottox could actually make it to the January meet, and I could make it to the January meet *fingers crossed!* then I might have been able to persuade dad to give him the 486... which is slightly better than the one he has at the moment...
Oh well.
Oh, this is so much better! Much faster, better monitor, that's it, but 
it's so much better! 
OK, I'll stop enthusing about an ancient computer now...

Actually I thought about it too, and I'm thinking of flying a computer to the meet and send it to Ottos (I have an old Pentium 100Mhz lying unused). He'll still have to use his crappy monitor, becaus I'm not taking a monitor from Israel to europe though...

I just hope I can manage to convince my girlfriend to go to London for a vacation, and arrange the dates to fit 
We have one of those... a cardplating machine. I have 6 computers at home:
An ancient Apple IIe that will never see electricity again.
1. A 486 the has the same status as the Apple IIe
2. A pentium 100 - unused
3. A pentium 100 - Dedicated for the Arachnid solitaire
4. A pentium 500 - a graphics, web design, wordprocessing, cardplaying A pentium 100 - unused
5. A pentium 500 - A video Editing machine - and a great one at that. Also - serves as the gateway to the internet for the others, and a file server.
Computers 3,4 and 5 are connected in a LAN.

Congratulations!
I've actually got three computers...
The one you know. One even older - in a box in the cellar, don't know why I still have it! And actually - time to confess - also a newer, better one! 
Not *that* much newer, but I think it's a pentium at least. Probably almost like the one you talk about, Dancer. But something's wrong with it, and *I* can't fix it, and I haven't talked to anybody who can, so it haven't been used for more than a year. 
However, here's the god news - I've been talking with my bank today, and they sound quite positive about a loan for a new computer!
I'll have to talk to them again tomorrow.
