Research park is 6 miles outside south side of Cambridge at intersection of A1307 and A11. So that's where I'll be based.

So really I'm looking at all points that connect those two dots.

So Haverhill, Newmarket(!) and Royston (Local Shop ) have thrown up some possibilities (as well as Huntingdon to the North) and then it's a job (underway) of cross-referencing base cost / is it any good vs distance (i.e time/petrol) with counsel tax bands offers like "all bills inc"

I'm awaiting a phone call today from the accommodation officer for the research campus as they have accommodation on site for helping relocatees, which if I can get will take the heat out of having to find somewhere in the next week.

Rightmove already bookmarked - any others? - I've been looking at Prime Location and Find A Property, as well as looking at local estate agents with, predictably, the same properties re-occuring in different lists!

local shop windows, newsagents, usually have room to let cards, only down side, you need to be there to look

Campus accommodation is a bust.

Nothing suitable for single occupancy and all on a par expensive (give or take) with finding somewhere local.

So next week home hunting in Cambridge and surrounds is assured.

i could offer a sofa for a few days, 1 bus ride from cambridge,

unfortunatly the bus is the X5 and goes from oxford to cambridge via MK and i'm at the oxford-ish end
