I may have to seriously consider some kind of career in cookery! I spent large amounts of Poets evening inventing and cooking a yummy scrummy "Cake of Peace" (
). And not only did I invent it from scratch, I really enjoyed it - and it wasn't at all bad as a finished product, either! Hmmm...
Of course, the reason it was a cake of *Peace* was that Doobry was the big peace march in London - yes, I can proudly say I am but 1 in {between .75 and 2} million! I still think it very
to be part of something so historic, and it was good fun - although very tiring... It took me almost 2 hours from Waterloo station to the Houses of Parliament, by which time the front of the march had just about reached Hyde Park - by the time I got there, with the tail end of the "march", the rally was over, that's how much of London we stretched through! And although, contrary to popular belief, 2 million people *can* be wrong, they're pretty hard to ignore! I don't disagree that there's a problem in Iraq, but I don't think war is the solution - and it would seem a hell of a lot of people agree with me there...
Which is all very well, but I'm actually doing an Intelligent Systems degree, and have a piece of coursework due in on Wimpy [
- pass the
], another next Poets, and a third plus a load of revision that I should be well into by now. You can see why sometimes I wonder if I'm doing the right thing, can't you? But I do enjoy coding and stuff as well, it's just - well, I guess I'm finally getting the full life I've been after for so long!
I ought to include mention that I got some rather
photos back on Poets, as well - isn't it fun when you've completely forgotten what it was you took? And as an example of my full life, I've seen some great films lately: if you ever get a chance to watch "Donnie Darko", go for it...
And finally, I got a wonderful "bad news, good news" moment earlier: Delphi suddenly died while I was debugging my program, causing me to lose about an hour's work
. But then my brother rang me - he's just got engaged!
Which really shook me, cos nobody *ever* gets married in my family - even my other brother, with three kids, isn't married; I haven't been to a wedding since I was about 3!
So there you have it - the last few days in the life of Increase
Mathers,

Cool. Although I kinda go along with the reports, which is that there isn't even a problem in Iraq in the first place!!! I think it's just diversion tactics to stop us noticing that they haven't found Bin-Ladin yet!
Pass on my best wishes to Sid/Sandy/Alex/whatever(!) when you next speak to him!!!

i had the foolish idea that i could write on this site but i will admit it totally baffles me how to begin, do all the linky things and stuff, and what would i put on my personal space - i have no web site or member of online things....>sigh< lets face it, i'm just not cut out to be a techie! ah well, i will just read.
ah, you saw donnie darko? the best film i saw last year i tink. i watched the truman show but wasn't hugely impressed, i think it didn't help that leo was screaming all the way through and bast kept starting these really opnionated convos on communisim and 1984 etc. and i just HATE jim carey he's a pr##k..and if you had just discovered that your best friends and family were all lying to you and acting, wouldn't you have a nervous breakdown or something?wanna kill yourself? it completely lacked intensity. you know your entry on someoneelse effect, well i have one kinda the opposite when you see a really good idea that you wished youd thought of but its done badly. too late to do it your way cos its already been done and people would scorn you for copying..i think this all the time when i see films..if I had made it i woulda...etc
alzo, u must see - 'state and main'.phillip seymour-hoffman is my fabourite actor right now ( i felt really american writing that - he just rules man...)
I'm reading A prayer for Owen Meany - john irving, a strange and fantastic book. you would like irving you should give him a go if u got time. warning though they are highly addictive books, do not read at night if you need to sleep!

Well, I'd certainly go with the "there is no 'Crisis in Iraq' - just a political crisis in the rest of the world", but I have to admit that carrying on as we are isn't really a very good idea, seeing as the sanctions are doing no more good than war would - and affecting the wrong people in just the same way. So yes, it's a completely political situation, and not about what's best for the people of Iraq at all, but the reality is we've got to do *something* different from what we're doing right now. Just please don't let it be war!
Well, I suggest you browse in and out of the <./>Askh2g2</.> thread at F19585?thread=200429&latest=1 (ignoring the inevitable flamings and repeats, and of course the backlog ) if you want some stimulating thought on that. Meanwhile, I reckon it's a perfect example of the "fractal" nature of the universe that you feel incredibly powerful and significant when you're part of a crowd of thousands - not despite, but *because of* the sheer numbers. I actually got quite emotional at times, thinking of the sheer scale of what I was part of.
Oh, and I'll pass on your bests if Sid (etc. - fancy you remembering all the names! I have problems with people with only one ) rings again...

Yo there sister type person! How goes it?
My suggestions for personal space-ness - chuck something up there: put what kind of stuff your into, authors, films, interests; where you live, where you'd want to live - just drivel a bit, you can always change it later, but as soon as you put something on there, people can leave messages attached to it, and you should get an ACE visit you, whose job it is to help you settle in.
Next, I suggest you start putting some stuff in your journal - just write cool thoughts, like you do - and maybe put some appropriate comments at the end of your nickname (you can change it at <./>UserDetails</.> if your in the mood (this is up to you, but it's a common thing...).
Then start dipping into some conversations - check out the war one in my post above, for instance, and join some of the random friendliness at A703126. Enjoy
Donnie Darko = v. , but v.
. Have you seen "Talk to Her" (recent Pedro Almodovar)? Excellent - grim, but somehow uplifting (come to think of it, I think I txted you on my way home from that one...)
Hmmm, e-mail - yeah, I'll drop you a line noos: it's one of the infinitely many things I'm eternally about to do
Oh, and check out http://web.dkm.cz/koplih/htf/htf.htm
Hmm, lecture in 10 mins -
s and

mmm... lunch...
just thought I'd mention one more thing quickly: you can "subscribe" to new conversations on a page with the "click here to be notified [ect, ect]" link at the bottom - and it seems you have to do this even with your own personal space! Being a , however, I'll shove the link straight in here: <./>FSB114972?cmd=subscribeforum&page=normal&desc=Join+the+Glorious+Thingite+Cause&return=A516647</.>

Of course I remembered the names!!! If I can remember 6 of my own, I can remember 3 of someone else's!!!
I don't agree with this war (*this* War, as opposed to all War), I don't agree with the reasons their giving for it, and I don't agree with how they're going ahead with things.
I'm off home now. See you (I wish!).

Exactly what I was about to say: and
to the Ostrich-shaped one (and yes, but the groovyness takes on a different flavour as the deadlines approach
...)

Things is okay. Got seriously bored in w**k today rattled off my own job by about 11am, did various other peoples jobs until those ran out at 2pm and then just sat there until 4.30pm doing absolutly nothing.
Still I was getting paid for doing absolutly nothing and when you look at it like that it's not all bad.
Passed my scuba diving test over the weekend me is now Kwalified with a capital 'K'.
I'm very impressed with your peace march - Good for you!
What else? Warwick university lost my references for a place on a postgraduate course I'm chasing. Rung 'em up today and they've found em again, so I can begin breathing again now.
Lectures and course work? reminds me of this period of my life
