IMSoP - Safely transferred to the 5th (or 6th?) h2g2 login system

A few weeks ago (actually, quite a few weeks ago...) my girlfriend (Lifson Kofie) told me she was going to the London h2g2 meet, and would I like to come? "smiley - erm," said I, "maybe...".

I thought this seemed like a bit of an odd thing to do. As it happens, I still do, although (unless I dreamt it) I did go... smiley - winkeye

Yes, I really did spend a day going round London with a bunch of essentially complete strangers, trying to take photos of each other in bizarre places / etc. [I _dreamt_ of tube stations last nightsmiley - doh]

And yes, I really did enjoy chatting to people who I only knew obscure pseudonyms of (if that!)

So thank you smiley - biggrin
- thanks to Bassman & son, FashionCat, Demon Drawer, Ashley, Lifson & family for being with me on the Scavenger hunt (did we win? did we win?)
- thanks to Lifson for talking me into going in the first place.
- thanks also to Lifson's mum (EvilMother?) for letting her come/bringing her (and for the smiley - stout)
- thanks to Tube, smiley - sillywilly, Croz, Clive the Flying Ostrich and loads of people I can't remember this minute for being mad, but being mad with me!
- thanks to GalaxyBabe, Mina/Linda, and The Fish for being exceptionally nice to me
- thanks to the italics (and anyone else) for organising it, and (presumably) the BBC for paying for it
- but most of all thanks to all of you - whether you came or not - for making h2g2 such a wonderful and friendly community! Yesterday really brought home to me what a thoroughly nice atmosphere this community has. Long may it last.

To Us!smiley - cheers/smiley - bubbly

No, once somebody explains the general direction of something to me, plus a few landmarks, I can usually home in on it like an in-built compass, so I had no problems smiley - winkeye
(Finding Paddington railway station from Paddington tube station was more of a challenge than I expected thoughsmiley - erm)

Well, from what I gather, The Fish ended up in a different city to where he lives!smiley - biggrin! (whereas he should have ended up in Reading, like me...).
So I suppose you were lucky there: at least you spotted it in time to actually get home!!smiley - winkeye
