Actually, believe it or not, Coelacanth's tip originates with system designer Jim Lynn himself! So it's pretty much a legal move.

Coely, I don't think you would care for the boonies being a saltwater species, but if you came in your tank you would think they were beautiful. Boonies means out in the country, away from civilization. I'm only 4 miles from the village, but there's not much out here! Sporky should know, he's from the boonies! Well, pretty much.

Coely, you would like the boonies, if you came in your tank. No saltwater around here. But it is pretty; the boonies is short for boondocks, which means a remote rural area. We have nice rolling hills here, but you should see where Sporky lives! (only about 40 miles from me) There are some pretty big mountains there, and not far is the tallest Mt. in Vermont - Mt Equinox. Ok, enough geography, I've got to go to sleep before I have to get up! G'night.

I suggest you ask it that, as that is a rather personal question, no?

Thank god for that I was going completely insane,.....
It sounds remarakably like a .... well a .... hmmm - I'm not entirely sure but I think it could be a thingamy...

Argon0 (50 and feeling it - back for a bit) Posted Jun 20, 2000
Not necessarily - it could just be something using the nimby (I think) invisibiliity shield - see H2G2 radio series (methinks - not sure if it was the 3rd book though) it comes up when the Wickets(?) Ship is at the Cricket ground and (I think) Slartibartfast rescues Arthur - again.... (or am I just making all this up..??).
BTW has anyone else played the excellent Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy game for the Memotech MTX512?? Its a text only adventure and the only one I ever finished...

You were talking about the "somebody else's problem field" or SEF for short. And yes, I have played the game. It's available on DNA's site as a java application, but you can't save games, so it is almost impossible. It was written by Infocom in the 80's for lots of different platforms - I played it on my PC. Did you have fun with the babelfish problem?
And THAT is almost completely inadequately described as lumpy, although it is not altogether inaccurate. If you know what I mean.

Yes, it's almost like mom used to make, but with no lumps, or at least none that you can really make out. ;-\

re the Infocom game.
*swims back through mind, but encounters lots of things about the 80's best left alone*
Wasn't there a door that wouldn't open and a horrible tea machine?
I loved text adventures, and played mostly Level 9 ones. They took ages to load - you could go shopping, or have a bath and the cassette would still be bleeping away!
Is THAT making a funny noise?

I had THHGTTG for my Commodore 64... wait... had? I *still* have it

From here THAT looks rather like a second hand sofe that has been sitting in the corner for so long it has developed into a new, but rather scary, life-form. You can plays games on the computer, Cor, I never knew that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People keep mentioning DNAs web site - where is it??
All I remember about it is it followed the books fairly closely and I had to jump on a Sofa when I was in the stone age to escape to the present - Oh and I spent a long time wondering around at some point...

You see Commodore 64's in museums nowadays! I had an Atari 400, then upped it to an 800. They were state of the art because you slotted the game in the top!
Don't have it any more, but I do have, and still use on a regular basis, my calculator with the green glowing numbers first purchased 1976.
