Too OLD!!!
Posted Aug 22, 2003
My body is rather grumpily telling me that I am simply *too old* to be pulling this all-nighter business.
My main goal for this weekend is to catch up on sleep, although I won't be able to sleep in too much tomorrow -- after to be at my weekend job at 10am. That's okay, though. I may well be ready to crash by around 7 o'clock tonight.

Weirdness and Survival
Posted Aug 15, 2003
Well, I survived my trip to Dallas -- although sadly, wasn't able to make it to Austin. The air conditioner in the car was defunct, and there was no way I was attempting that drive without it. I did, however, have the amusement of going to Six Flags on a 109-degree day -- as all the natives stayed at home with their ACs, my sister and I were essentially the only ones there, and didn't wait in any substantial lines the whole day. Which is a good thing, because we went on every water ride in the park.
And, on to the general weirdness part of today's journal entry, here's a link someone sent my way:

I really don't know what to say to prepare you for it, you may just need to be brave enough to take the plunge....

Next stop....?

Okay, taking suggestions for my next entry to write for PR.... My ongoing to-do list is here A580619 (which is, by the way, always open to suggestions). I've copied and pasted from there the list of next potential topics I had running (I tend to add things as they occur to me, and then grab from the list when it's time for me to start a new entry. Right now, I'm having a hard time trying to pick which to do next. Here's the list as it stands, with the starred ones being the ones I find slightly more compelling:
Post-it Notes
Mr Bendy dolls
* Madame Alexander Dolls
Louisa May Alcott
* the different cinematic versions of Little Women
Spectrum of creationist beliefs
* Natural Family Planning and the Fertility Awareness Method
How to Make Your Very Own Disco Snake
* Things to Know About Large Breasts
A biography of Noel Streatfeild
* Prince Spaghetti Day --
Fake Beaches
* Target
* ISI Figure Skating Levels
Margaret O'Brien, child film star
Any other suggestions? Any preferences out of the above list? Anything that just jumps out and grabs your fancy?

What I did on my summer vacation....
Posted Jul 22, 2003
Well, I survived my high school reunion. Hung out with all sorts of old pals. Took a few rolls of film of the old campus and dorms. The endearing doofus running the reunion thought it would be fun not to have nametags, and 90% of the people there didn't recognize me, and kept assuming that I was just there as somone's wife. Had some occasional fun playing along with that one and messing with some people.
Saw an old junior high school pal who'd just had her first baby last month. Hadn't seen her in almost 15 years, but we still just 'clicked'. The baby was the most adorable little thing ever -- it was good to get my baby fix in.
Got to go the Ren Faire with Barton and Richenda and Psychocandy and H'venlee and see all sorts of sights, and get all sorts of hugs.
And now, I'm hootooing from Barton and Richenda's place -- have a few hours before it's time for dinner and then have to leave for the airport.
Tragically, Krispy's flight gets in just as mine is leaving, but at different airports, so we won't be able to see each other.
Vacations are good things, you know?
Mikey, who will be back in Seattle with her kitty cats tonight

Here's a map of where I ended up, not overly surprisingly:
