A possible new favorite comic strip....
Afgncaap5 Started conversation Dec 22, 2004
I just discovered Sabrina Online.
This has existed HOW LONG without me knowing about it?
I just noticed someone put a strip of it in their signature, and searched for it. I've not read any recent strips, but I've been working my way forward from the very first October of 2000.
I stopped to post this, because I've finally found a strip that seems neither incredibly pro-Microsoft nor incredibly anti-Microsoft. I mean....there's a definite anti-Microsoft bias, that's to be expected, but there's at least an acknowledgement that the world of reasonably intelligent computer users doesn't stop at an individual system of some sort.
It makes me look at the Windows PC I use for nearly everything, the Linux I use for occasional programming, and the Apple that I use for playing Escape Velocity with pride.
Just kinda wish I owned all three of those....sigh....oh, well. GameCube first.....or X-Box....hmmmm....
Say, that's right....Christmas IS upon us, isn't it? Heh-heh-heh....

Who are you and what are you doing with my screen name?

A full explanation would give away much too much for my standard hint sessions, I'm afraid. Suffice to say that it's been cleared up.
Pity, though. The first post's content basically had all my opinions, which was the creepy thing. I'd just never openly advertise for people to go read Sabrina Online in an environment where anyone could read it.
I mean, it's a nice comic and all, but not something that I'd show to a kindergarten class every once in a while.

I just read 1996 and the first quarter of 1997. Not bad!

Oh no, it's not bad at all. In fact, it's one of my favorite comic strips.
But well before you reach the first quarter of 2000 (I'm assuming you're looking at the main archives, yes?), you should see why you wouldn't want to, say, expose a seven year old to the series as a whole.
It's one of those interesting little concept pieces. It's got edgy subject matter, but it manages to maintain a kind of wholesome, folksy aura.
That's what you get with good writin', I guess.
I think when I first found the strip (not too long ago, really. A month, maybe) I had a free day to myself, so I just read through the entire archive. Seven years of a comic strip's plot in one sitting....felt kinda weird.

No problem, but in case you missed the second posting of this conversation, I'll just let you know that I'm not wholly responsible for bringing this strip to people's attention.
And the other people....I'll let that one stay a mystery.
Key: Complain about this post
